Function keys on MC9090

hi,
Sound like you need to look at your Keyboard mapping files, easiest way to fix this is to use Motorola System Configuration Manager - Downloadable from the Motorola website.
If the unit need to be restored to factory defaults, than a fast way is to run the Clean boot files from the SD Card also downloadable via the Motorola site - search for 'MC9090 Clean boot'

When I press the keys on my MC9090 they give the wrong output.

The Motorola MC9090 can have different keypads attached. If you do change the keypad for any reason for example go from a 53 key to 43 key layout the terminals must be cold booted.

To cold boot an MC9090 running Windows Mobile 5. Partially remove the battery, hold down the On/Off button, the trigger and reinsert the battery. When the orange light on the keyboard flashes release the on/off button and the trigger.

If the on/off button or trigger is held down longer than required this occasionally causes the terminal to get caught in a warm boot cycle

If the device is still not giving the correct key output it may have a faulty keypad.

Can you improve the screen touch sensativity on a MC9090-G RFID?

Quick answer no you can't. The touch screen is a resistive panel and hence you may get panels with slightly different tolerances, but that’s about it.

If they are old and worn they do tend to need a bit more persuasion to work and once they stop working they need replacing.

Hope this helps.

Using an upgraded MC9090 gun...connexion broken in standby mode

This could be 2 thinks. First check to see if under your wireless profile that the card is set to CAM (Constantly Awake Mode). This doesn't help you battery life, but stops the radio card switch off and closing any open connections.

Next you could see what you power settings are. In control panel open up the power settings. You can change the time when the terminal goes into standby when running on battery power and also the CPU power mode.

Hope this helps.

Could not active it the scanner on the MC9090

The link works for me DataWedge provides a convenient mechanism for non-scanning aware applications to receive data from embedded or connected data capture devices. It allows the user to capture data into any application that accepts keyboard input. It supports four types of Data Feeds: Barcode Scanners, RFID Tag Readers, MSR Readers and Serial Data Input. It provides user with text/hex data formatting and prefix/suffix facilities. Description
  1. New Test and Log Display.
  2. Improved DataWedge Startup Time for MSR and RFID
  3. Gen2 RFID Support
  4. Device enable/disable persistence over cold boot
  5. Virtual Key Support in Prefix/Suffix
  6. Performance improvements for MSR
  7. Enable Serial Interface on startup
  8. Support added for Event based Serial reading.
  9. Delays regarding RFID are fixed.
  10. Several Barcode character mapping issues fixed.
make sure some security software is not blocking your access

My MC9090-G scanner is stuck in boot mode. I've tried a cold boot and warm boot and nothing works.

Actually if it is continuously rebooting, it is usually because someone was holding down the trigger through a cold boot process. That's what puts it into this continuous reboot loop. To get out of it do a cold boot again (pop the battery part of the way out, hold down the power button and trigger simultaneously, and then push the battery back in while the power button and trigger are still down). But as soon as you push in the battery to the point where you hear it click, release the trigger. If you hold it in too long, the unit will start continuously rebooting.

Thanks,
