Sounds like a clogged or kinked vent. tis generating heat so hte dryers good, your not ehausting the heat whick is why its take 2-3 cycles to dry, either clean or replace your venting, look to where it exits hte home sometimes theres ascreen over it cloggged with lint!!!!

check your fuse/breaker panel, for a double breaker for the drier, switch it off and back on to reset it, and see if that fixes it.. very strange that both devices would be affected. sounds like somebody wired the washer outlet to the drier circuit. VERY UNSAFE.

It's a whirlpool awz 7466. It runs fine, but I do not know which settings it needs to be on to dry my clothes normally. A small load will take at least 2 hours and makes laundry take forever. Any help

Hi Jennifer,

Two hours to dry a small load of laundry (even a large load for that matter) is way too long. You're wasting electricity too. The first thing you should do is consult the manual for the dryer to be sure you've selected the proper setting. The literature for this can be found here.

Consult this literature page 63 for the location and cleaning instructions for the (e) lint filter after each drying cycle and (h) heat exchanger at least monthly. Failure to clean both will result in long drying times. If you have the "Gentle" cycle selected, drying time will be prolonged, too.

Hopefully, these suggestions will help you solve the problem. Good luck!

I have a kenmore/whirlpool electric dryer that is not getting the clothes dry,it takes 2 1/2 runs to get them dry! the model# is LEC6848AQ1

Remove the exhaust vent on the rear of the dryer and run a load.
If it dries in 1 hour or less, repair the vent or the restriction in the vent.

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have not taken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then you need to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should take place. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causes for your dryer to fail.
