paper jam and cannot remove from rear of printer. By removing the cassette in the front of the machine and laying the machine on it's left side, I cannot see any paper jammed. I can see it jammed in the rear only. What else can I do without bringing the machine in somewhere?

paper jam/ open back door? How?

  • speedy01 Apr 03, 2008

Had paper jam message appear on brother mfc-210. Remove paper jam from printer and open all door and still get paper jammed message. turn computer off and printer to reboot and reset and still can not get printer to work. No matter what I do this problem persists. I just want my printer to start working like when I purchase it. I can't afford to purchase another printer when I know that last week it was working just find and one day it just up and stops working for no reason. there was no paper jammed in the system but the error message said there was. We also reconfigure the control panel for the printer and it still shows the document ready to print but a paper jam message appears on the printer message display window. We just bought a new computer in Jan 2008 and the computer is operating find. The printer was also operating just fine and now it is not working properly. I want a new printer and as a valued customer we deserve it.

I've had my brother mfc-7440n for over 2 years and it's been working great until this past week. Now, it has a paper jam every single time I try to print anything, causing me to have to remove the...

85% of paper jams are caused by worn rollers . The rubber treads in the rollers wears down, making them smooth, so they won't pick up the paper. Sometimes, they are aged, which also gives them a smoother rounded texture, causing jams. The quick fix is to liven up that roller with a mixture of alcohol and soap. Damp a rag with the solution and wipe the rollers clean with it. That's make them more pliable and the paper jams will cease. If you plan to keep your printer,

Replace the pick-up and feed rollers.

Metal Tab Separation- Pull out your paper tray and examine either end where the paper sits in. If any of the corners are held down by metal tabs, this is your paper feed system. Chances are, you only have one rubber roller or one set of rollers arranged along side of each other. Reach in where the tray goes and feel up. You should feel some rollers. They might be completely round, or they might be shaped like a half moon. Clean whichever part of them you can with the solution, and this should stop your paper jams. It might be necessary to turn them, but don't force them if they don't move freely.

Pickup Roller and Separation Pad-

If your printer uses this paper feed system, you should see a small piece of flat or slightly curved rubber or cork. It would be towards the end of the paper tray, or deep inside the paper loading cavity on top loaders. This 'separation pad' rubs against the paper feed roller, so if you find the pad, you've found the roller. Clean it and your jams should stop.

Three Roller Paper Separation System- Pull your paper tray out, and look for a roller on either end of it. If you find one, clean it. Then look inside the printer where that roller would rest with the paper tray inserted. You'll find another paper roller there. Clean this one also. Finally, look further back or closer to the front of your printer (depending on which way your paper feeds) to find another roller or set of rollers. Clean all of these, and your paper jams will go away

I have a CP3505 color printer. I cannot get it to print. It gives me an error code 13.00.01 paper jam in tray 2 (or tray 1). I have tried everything I can think of to fix this, but it does not seem to...

Well a jam is a jam,
or at least as far as the printer is concerned.

Printers detect jams with a series of plastic flags that trigger sensors,
if one of these flags is inside of a sensor it thinks it's a jam.

You should try to follow the paper path and look for each of these small pieces of plastic,
take a can of air and blow out the ones you can find. One of them is probably stuck of has some debris on it.

You can also try feeding some card stock through the paper path up from where the tray cassette goes to see if maybe there's some scrap inside where you can't see.

Brother DCP-7020 Paper Jam, we keep having the paper jam at the paper exit at the top/back of machine. I've examined closely from front, back, bottom, even removing a few easily removed parts, but can...

This is caused by dirty exit roller. As this machine is a pain to dismantle I suggest that you try and clean these rollers ( 3 or 4 rubber small ) as they rotate. Opening and closing the front door will keep rotating them for you. Use a damp wrm water lint free cloth. I use a compound named Print Clean but metho can be used also.

Also:

Start a print from tray 1/manual feed and just as the trailing edge of paper is entering the machine; quickly open it to stop print and take out the cartridge and look at the drum and the paper underneath. If the issue is there at that point then it would point to the cartridge. If not then it is in the fuser area.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

Error 241.1 Paper Jam. I have reseated the tray

Brand New T652n lexmark printer get a paper jam every time! just opened and haven't been able to print one paper. Doesn't matter if you print from tray one or tray two. It gets stuck right after the rollers pick it up and try to send it to the toner. Any suggestions? I've tried to reseat the toner, plain paper, sized the paper correctly, I've tried just about everything I can think of! I can feed paper manually through the top tray, and it will print. But, just using the manual tray defeats the purpose of the other two trays. Anyone else having this issue?

Says a front paper jam but no paper jammed any where

Your paper feder belt has ink on it and will not feed the paper. Remove the rubber belt and clean it good and clean and use compressed air on the printer tray area. If this does not work open the front feeder tray and set your computer to print from it. After about 500 copys it will normally have c leaned itself and be ready to feed from the main roller.

Paper Jam

Open up the doors and blow some compressed air throughout the paper path (where the paper travels up). Make sure to blow air onto the sensors, because paper dust can coat them, causing false jams.

Does the paper get out of the tray at all? There is a feed roller that feeds the paper up into the machine; if you remove the paper tray you can see this roller -- it's big and gray and has grooves across it -- above where the paper sits toward the front of the printer. Blow air onto this roller as well, and if you have either D-ink or a rubber rejuvinator, clean the roller with a lint-free cloth.

Also make sure the paper is snug in the tray and not bent or crooked.

Doesn't Print - Says "Paper Jam"

That is the problem, machine will show printer jam if paper feed rollers fail to pick up paper when requested, your machine sounds like it needs new paper feed roller or you can clean the paper feed roller with a slightly! damp cloth.

If no jam light shows when power is turn on and machine comes to ready and then you send a job to printer and it then shows jam then it is the feed roller or sometimes the feed clutch

If on the other hand it always show jam then there is or a switch is stuck.
