I need a replacement switching adapter for the 1800HW P/N 2900-800007-000 Model: SAL 115A-0525-6G. Input: 120V ~ 50-60Hz 400mA Output: 6V----2000mA Thanks Hari

You can buy any 6vDC, 2A (same as "2 amp" and "2000mA") supply, just make sure that the polarity matches your supply's connector.

There's typically a diagram on the supply, the router, or both. It will show a + and - sign, one of which is connected to the middle of the connector, the other is connected to the outside of the connector. MOST 2-wire products are positive-core, negative-shield, but I don't have your exact router in front of me.

The first google hit is a place called E-Shop, and they seem to be legit but I've never bought anything from them. Their price is $20 + shipping, which is a bit high for a supply of this type.

You can also cruise eBay, where 2000mA and 2A supplies (remember, they're the same thing!) are going for $10+shipping.

If this helps, hit the "thumbs-up" for me. If you have further questions or if I can clarify anything, just post back here and I'll do what I can to help.

I need to purchase a power supply cord for 2wire 2701HG-B Wireless Modem?

This are the specs you are looking for:

Input Voltage: 100-240VAC (50-60Hz)
Output Voltage: 5.1 Volts DC (not more!)
Amperage: 2.5 Amps (not less!)

I saw an adapter online for about 10$. Look here.

Apparently you are not the only one experiencing problems with the power supply. See here.
Someone found a replacement:
"...I have noticed that the power supply/charger for the Sony PSP has an output of 5VDC/2A center minus (neg) plug, and the plug fits perfectly in the 2wire gateway. I bought one out of sheer desperation at the local game store and it only cost me $15."
Not bad!

Good luck!

If you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

Looking for a power cord

Hi guys,

Had the same problem yesterday. Went to Radio Shack and picked up a universal power adapter (Model 273-1696). It can be set for 6V and will draw the required 2000mA. Box does not include the right size plug, but the salesman gave me one that fit for no extra charge. Cost 32.99. Everything is working fine now.

2Wire Power Supply

My 2Wire just died - I did not know because of the adapter or the router.
I went to Radio Shack to buy what Glen Smith suggested. They do not have them -
I bought Enercell 3/5/6/6.5/7/7.5VDC 2A (Serie 2730333) - plus using old Adaptaplug (I took from other Universal AC Adaptor). AND IT WORK !!!

2wire Router cannot connect to K Corp KLS-611 adapter 802.11g

if you wantd to change the type of encryption from WEP to WPA...aside from accessing the modem through 192.168.1.254....this ip is used on 2wire1000hg series, 2wire1800hg, 1701hg, 2701hg-b and 2700hg-b

*then you might need to indicate the modem password
*if you know it...indicate so, if not, click on the link that says "I forgot password", it would give you a hint...if you still forgot it, click on "I still forgot password"
*after that you need to click on "home network" which is the icon on the top portion of the page
*then you need to click on "wireless settings"
*under "wireless security" you would be able to change the "authentication", whether it is WEP-OPEN, or WPA-PSK"

- you could also go to: 2wire.com for help, just go to the support section
- or you could also see some simulators if you need one on shasta.2wire.com
