I have a 3 year old projection tv. I just started having problems with it last night when it started showing a double image. The red is also way off center. What can I do to fix it?? Please help!! The picture on my Panasonic PT-47WX42 Rear Projection HDTV has a horizontal wave of distortion which seems to be the most pronounced at the top and bottom extremities of the screen, but is visable throughout. The colors are improperly alligned, and the convergence adjustments described in the manual do not seem to have any effect on the problem. This problem did not develop gradually. I turned the tv off with everything working as usual, and turned it back on to find this. I removed the screws that hold the screen to the main body of the unit, but the bottom edge seems to be secured beneath the plastic valance where the front AV connections are located, which in turn seems to be secured beneath the speaker dust jacket. I find no visable fasteners keeping the valance or the dust jacket in place, and I dont want to break anything by guessing incorrectly which way to yank or twist or pry, so thats as far as my repair attempt has gotten.

Sounds like the same problem i am having. i only have the wave at the bottom with color distortion. i talked to the store from where i purchased the tv and they told me it sounded like a crt gun. they recommended replacing all three guns. the tv is 4 yrs old. is this a common problem with these tvs and is it worth fixing.
