One way to test the audio on the tv is to connected a cable line or ant.. and see if audio comes out on the speakers of the television.. if they don't then go on the menu under audio and make sure the speakers are not turn off..

If you get audio with the ant or cable channels.. then the television speakers are on.. now you might want to try the sat receiver with different connections an example will be AV cables.. yellow, red and white.. to see if that works ? make sure the red and white are right next to the yellow input or else you wont get audio..

If you will like more help.. you could also contact this company called Amergence Technology they have trained technicians that have knowledge for Olevia products.. there number is 866-965-3842

No audio after recording from sat. Reciever

Double-check your input cables from the receiver to the LG 389. Do you have the sat. receiver AV out connected to the front AV In on the LG DRT389? Make sure that you haven't mixed up the L and R audio connections on either side. (I've done something similar with RCA cables myself.) Next, try a different set of cables.

If that doesn't work, there may be a problem with the audio jacks on either your receiver or the 389. To check, plug the AV cables from the Sat. Receiver directly into the TV. If you have sound and video, then the input jacks on the recorder may be damaged.

Try using another input. (It looks like some models have the SCART input; you may need to set the input source in the menu under AV2 Decoder.)

The fact that you have audio output on USB and DVD's means that cables/connections between the LG289 and the TV are fine.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the details of which AV port you are using on the LG389 for additional assistance.

I bought a Sharp Aquos HDTV. Am trying to use a digital co-ax cable to run tv thru my reciever. I get no sound. there is only 1 place on each device to hook up this cable. Any suggestions?

I dont wish to assume that when you say receiver, you mean sattelite or cable. Since you may be trying to hook this up to a surround sound reciever...

Let me also clarify, if this is the case, the receiver needs to be turned on AND the selection signal device set to TV or AUX wherever it is you've connected the TV.

Now by receiver, if you actually meant cable or sat box, then the Ext antena from that service connects to that units ANT IN.

Then from there on that unit ANT OUT to your TV SIGNAL IN.

If you want the external surround sound and have the connectors for this. Then you need to send them OUT to the Stereo/Surround receiver TV IN.

Now having said that and assuming that your TV does not have the Red and White Audio RCA connectors... Your Sat or Cable box does... You connect those to the surround sound Receiver Audio IN

Hopefully you'll find this useful.

If this has not answered the situation. Please feel free to come back and provide all components your working with. Surround reciever, Sat, cable, DVD, VCR whatever etc. etc... I'd be more than glad to help you through this

Good Luck

Respectfully

I have a LG47" tv

Your DVD audio is sent directly to your receiver - not to you TV. That's why you can hear the audio on your stereo. The TV audio is not being sent anywhere - it is "stuck" in the TV and is amplified and sent to the TV speakers. Since the TV speakers are off, you don't hear anything. In order to listen to the TV audio on the stereo system's speakers, you need to send it to the receiver.

You need to have a pair (left + right signals) of audio cables (assuming you wish to listen to stereo sound) from the TV's Audio Output jacks to a pair of Audio Input jacks on the receiver / amplifier. You can use any unused input - CD, Video, Tape, Sat, etc. If you use Tape or Sat audio inputs, when you wish to listen to the TV audio, you must select the Tape or Sat input on the receiver.

Do not send more than one signal to a set of inputs on the receiver. Typically, a CD, DVD and Sat inputs offer two or more of the following types 1) Analog audio. These are the older RCA jacks that have been around since the beginning and require separate cables for left and right channels. 2) Optical inputs. This is the newer digital interface that provides for Dolby Digital (and others) format sound over a single fiber optic cable. 3) Coaxial inputs. This jacks looks like an RCA jack, but usually has an Orange ring - instead of the Red & White rings that analog RCA jacks have. They use a single coaxial cable. 4) HDMI input. This jacks carries both digital video and digital audio signals. If you are using an Optical input for the DVD on the receiver, do not use any other unused analog or digital inputs associated with the DVD to "piggyback" another device like a CD , VHS tape, etc.

I hope this helps and good luck! Please rate my reply. Thank you.

My menu says dtv Currently unavailable. How do I use the HD feature on my Olevia LT32HV

Do you have a High Definition cable/satellite reciever or a Blu-Ray player? Does your tv have a HDMI input or component or DVi or all of those? Most newer HD components use the HDMI connection. The HDMI connection is a single cable that has both video and digital audio together. The component connection is a connector with three rca jacks that are red, green, and blue. Audio is connected seperately with this connection via red and green rca audio jacks or a digital audio connector. The last is a DVi connector that is found on computers. Some older HD tvs and components use this connection. There are adapters available to turn a DVi connection into a HDMI connection. So if your TV does not have a HDMI connection but your HD reciever does you can use and adapter but you will not have any audio this way without using a seperate connector for the audio.

Connected to a sat. we have no sound when we put the T.V. to H.D

What cabling are you using? component? (blue red and green) or HDMI? if you are using component then make sure you also plug the red and white RCA cables in the "audio in" inputs. People commonly think that the component cables do it all but they only carry a video signal. If you are running HDMI through an AV reciever you may need to run an optical cable as well as most AV recievers (unless you buy top of the range) can only switch HDMI video but not sound.

The TV loses the signal from the dish reciever. I've checked all connections. I have to turn the TV off and then back on to fix it.

since you have a dish reciever you could try connecting the dish box to the television with the AV cables.. (yellow, white and red cables) to the television. once that is done press the source button on the remote until it displays composite then you will have the picture from the sat box. Try it like this to see if it still loosing the signal..

Also you could try is turn off the sat box then back on and see if that fixes that problem if it does could be something wrong with the sat box.. also test a dvd player to see how that reacts.. if that plays good and you connect the sat box on that same connection then the sat box could be having some issues.

Setup

I went to 'S' video for that function and use the external audio inputs for L/R. This path is slightly superior for video but carries no audio signal.
Check to see if they both have it.

The yellow cable is normally a 'composite' video cable which carries video and sync info.
The red and white are pretty standard for audio with red=right and white=left.
