Question about Saitek 3D Cyborg Graphite JoyStick (SAI10021)

Yaw stick-twist (Z-Axis) stopped working

I upgraded X-Plane to version 9.0 rc-1 and my yaw/nosewheel steering stopped working. I downloaded a stick tester and it is apparently dead.
Q: How do I take it apart (I don't unerstand the drawings on the base) to check for a loose wire on the rheostat?
Q: Should I just buy another one? (I've had this one for nearly four years?
Thanks, Woppo aka Paul Galanti

Thanks. I tend to agree. Besides there are probably some better sticks/throttles on the market.

How does one check Joystick compatibility? X-Plane only recommends very expensive sticks. My Saitek has always worked fine from version 6 on up. I think I'll hit Best Buy and see what's new in the last four years!

Takeing it apart should be a easy task.

You should get it warranty replaced if warranty still exists.

How to take it apart.. Id just start from the bottom, locate the screws and remove them. get a few glasses or cups or something and put the screws on difrent glasses. for exmable the ones that are on the outside to the first cup, then after you remove parts from the joystick put the next screws into the next cup. But Your just going to open it to see if all the wires are ok so I guess your not going to need to open more than the cover.

I would not suggest you open those up, as it's a miracle of science and engineering how they go together in the first place.

on the update, you may have run afoul of a mixed update issue, with the new X Plane..did you check for joystick compatibility first on this?

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I need help with my arduino robot

Hi,

For the first android app, most probably is not compatible with your phone, since it is crashing:
Solution: get the source code and make it compiled to your Android phone version.
The second app is apparently working, but the settings and values are not matching the setting and values of the blue-tooth module.
Solution: Tray to change the setting on the bt module and debug it over the Arduino serial port until you get good values, then do the adaptations on the Arduino source code to match the android bt app.

Hope it helps

Loaded XPlane 10 on new iMac and rudder pedals no longer function?

My iMac has a CD/DVD drive, but I posted a X-Plane 10 pendrive to avoid inserting DVD #1 every session. It functions perfectly. Another point is to connect all peripherals (stick and pedals etc.) BEFORE launching X-Plane 10. Then calibrate your peripherals within XP 10.
I have no pedals set, but instead a pitch-stick with grip throttle and a Logitech joystick with twist grip to fly helicopters.

Logitech say the EXtreme 3D PRO WON'T work on my MAC, HELP !!

Well... I was wondering how to make it work on our Mac. So I downloaded the free version of X-Plane 10 off the internet, and I was not sure that the joystick would work. But when I got on the game, I plugged the joystick into the back of our computer and the game said that a joystick has been found. So I clicked on calibrate joystick and then it worked right then. But it is hard to program the joystick buttons too the different commands for the game. Hope this helps. :)
