The unit tries to spin up the disc, for a few seconds and then just opens the tray, I have opened the unit and all that seems to happen is for it to try and spin the disc but it seems like it does not have...

What's probably wrong is that the player's optical assembly isn't working. If the lens is very dirty or the laser power gets too weak, the player doesn't detect the disc. The player has to see the disc is there before it starts spinning. You can try cleaning the lens with a cotton swab and lens cleaning fluid, but if the trouble continues then the pickup should be replaced.

Is there software available to allow me to download the audio as well as the vidio from my Panisonic PVGS-90 Camcorder to to my Acer Aspire 4315-2535 Notebook.

This camcorder was designed to transfer video using the DV connection. You will need an IEEE connection on your computer and 3rd party software. The IEEE-1394 connection cable and software are optional accessories and not included with this camcorder.

Cannot play any VCD or Audio CD or DVD... message displayed is ' reading' or 'close' or 'open'

dirty lens, get a DVD lens cleaner (preferable with the cleaning fluid and little brushes on the disc, your local electronics supplier should be able to supply you

don't open the player and try and clean the lens yourself, you will end up with a lens that cant focus properly.

My JVC stereo receiver :CA-D4T has 3 cd changers and they don't seem to work most of the time

This is an indication that either the lens is dirty or that the optics are failing. Try opening up the unit and cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. If that does not resolve the problem, the optics will need to be replaced.

When I put a CD in any tray of my JVC MX-J30, it tells me "No Disc". What is the problem?

It may need the lens cleaned. Try running a lens cleaning disc for about 20 to 30 seconds. If that does not help, you will need to take it in for service if you want it fixed. The most common repair for these with that error is the laser pick up going bad. It would probably cost about $125 to repair depending on the repair centers rates.

If I can be of any more help to you let me know.
