Question about Toshiba 42HM66 42" Projection HDTV

42hm66 toshiba picture quality

For some reason, my picture quality when down and the screen is darker, iv tried messing with the brightness and it still is just dark and the picture isnt as crisp as it once was, any ideas?

I would change the bulb out, if it's not that at least you have a spare when it does go.
do you know how many hours are on your bulb?

I noticed that my TV Sony Wega LCD Projection TV picture is darker than before. I tried to set brightness to very high, but still seems to be darker


hello, if you go in to the menu and click on to picture setting half way down the screen is the word reset click on this it should make it brighter hope it works

Why is my toshiba 46h84 picture getting darker than before? Its becoming harder to see darker scenes in movies


It sounds like your lamp is getting close to the end of its lifespan.The lamp is what gives your screen its brightness.With time they start losing this brightness.If you were to wait to replace it till it goes out completely you would have a black screen.You can purchase a quality lamp at discount-merchant.com

Darks too dark


try to open your tv and you can find the flyback ,in flyback you can see the screen and focus to adjust.use and try to rotate the screen,it control the brightness of your unit

Strange Image Flubbering/Convergence Problem, Flutters From Dark Picture To Light Picture.


you "tooled around with the convergence board" well this chassis has several problems if the convergence doesnt hold replace both stks resolder around that area per tosh tech bulletin the bright problem is probably the hyper module all toshs should be checked with toshiba website to see if they were part of the recalls for power supply caps
