Question about Xerox WorkCentre XD100 All-In-One Laser Printer
Just replaced toner cartage, woks fine except black line down side of copy,
what is the problem with that??
Its so simple the main charger is dirty ,main charger is located on top of the drum unit and can be removed with two skrews, there are four screws in a row along the top of the drum unit remove the two outermost skrews and lift that whole piece over and up you will find excessive toner build up on the drum facing side of that main charger on the same end as your line, clean with soft brush and compressed air or you can wash with 409 and water if you wash with water make sure it is really DRY before you install back into machine or replace drum unit it is almost ready anyway

If its is a fine line. Looking like a pencil line. See if it is there when you run it off the glass or through the document feeder. If it is only there when it is run throught the document feeder, the small strip of glass under teh document feeder had some contamination on it.
You may have something on the optics. Mirror or lamp carriages. You would want to clean those. The Drum cartridge could be bad. Take the drum out and see if it's on the drum.
The transfer wire on the lower part of the right hand door, just above the white rollers and may need cleaned.
Last and the least likely would be the fuser roller. That is the heated area just before exit area of the machine, You can look in there with a flash light and see if any of that roller is worn.
In order, I would think . 1, Drum, 2 Optiscs, 3. Fuser,4 Transfer corotron wire on the right door.
