Question about Jenn-Air SVE47100 Slide-In Electric Kitchen Range

Jenn Air Range SVD48600W (Circa 1998?)

Bought this Jenn Air used 3 months ago. Replaced Relay Board (Which had thermal damage) and the Clock board (which functioned, but no display). Unit functioned fine for 2 months. Now: oven light and interior cooling fan will turn on and off (Sometimes together, sometime separately) at will. Even when oven is set to off. When this occurs there are no fault codes and the downdraft fan switch and light switch do not work. The downdraft fan will come on when a left side stove burner is turned on (as it should). All other functions will work during this time. Cycling power would clear this condition at first, but now has no effect.

chime will not stop. "cancel" will stop it for a few seconds, but then it starts again. new electronic control module 6 months ago. worked ok but fan would sometimes run without stopping. used to be able to unplug and it would reset, but this doesn't work anymore.

I am having the same problem. My oven is also turning off and cannot always get it to turn back on. The oven light is coming on whenever it pleases and then I cannot get it off. It keeps beeping with an error that says "F-".

Jenn Air Range SVD48600W (Circa 1998?) - ja_question.gif Why are the oven indicator lights flashing? Answer: When power is first supplied to the appliance, a flashing time will appear on the display.
If a flashing time appears at any other time, a power failure has occurred. Press Cancel, and reset the clock if needed.
When the oven is not in use, the display shows the time of day.
If the indicator lights keep flashing after you have tried to reset the controls, then you may need to contact service person.

Their was a good possibility that the solder could have been lifting of the contact points on the board, if the symptoms return i would check this, along with the said cleaning method :)

F1 fault code? Jenn-Air SVE47100

HI. This is concerning the relay board that is installed in your unit. I would recommend to inspect the entire wiring harness that is linking the relay board to the elements, and other power component's. If the harness is ok, and connected tightly, and correctly, this will confirm that the relay board has failed. It must be replaced in the case. Be sure to inspect all wiring harness connections for corrosion before you replace the board. This could be as simple as a failed connection.

Jenn-Air JDS8850BDS control panel malfunction

You need a new control board. I bought similar range in 2004 and I just got my 3rd control board. Heating the oven over 400 degrees and using the self-clean function kills the board.

What a scam by service personnel.
-Simply press "Stop/Clear", then gently push the door handle until "Lock" appears on the screen. Press "Stop/Clear" again and the door unlocks itself!

If your display has gone dimmer and dimmer or just gone out it is probably the display board. There are a few capacitors on the back of the board. There is one that is 68 Microfarad 35 Volts. It is common for this one to go bad. I replace it with a 68 Microfarad 50 Volt rated one and that usually solves the problem.
