They have either a seperation pad or a roller. This is under the top roller. The main feed roller.Clean roller with wd.-40. Believe it or not. Let it sit for 3to5 minutes and try. Now don't forget to fan your paper. Especially if your in a high static area. Environment plays a big role. Store your paper in a dry place.
Please clean the followings using a cloth/ cleaning paper moistened with iso-propyl alcohol:(Pls refer to page-95 of your scanner getting started guide) 1.Pad Assy 2. Ultrasonic sensor 3. Idler roller 4. Pick roller 5. feed roller 6. Eject roller and 7. Glass surface
If the above doesn't help, then check the Pad Assy & Pick Roller count. If the counts exceeds the suggested replacement cycles, then you you may have to replace the same. Pls refer to page-99 of the getting started guide supplied with your scanner.

Hello, you need to determine if it tries at all. when you send a print job do you hear a sound, like it tries to pick up the paper, if yes, then remove the paper tray entirely for the printer. Look into the hole and towards the front you should see a black rubber roller. Take a lightly dampened cloth and wipe down as much of that roller as possible, paper dust can accumulate interfering with the operation (pick up roller). Take care to check the guides in the paper tray are aligned correctly for the paper size in use. Put the paper tray back into the printer, try to make a test print. i hope this assists with your problem, If after cleaning the roller the problem still exists the pick up roller may need to be changed.
I have used this tip numerous times with great success.
Remove the paper tray and take all the paper out of the tray. Now on the metal plate that springs up where the paper goes there are 2 fiber pads that are about an inch square. Spray these 2 pads with glass cleaner until they are wet. Wipe off the metal around the pads and re-install the paper tray with NO paper in the tray. Now tray and make a copy....you will of course get the "P" light. Just hit C to clear it and hit the print button again. Do this at least 4 or 5 times. What you are doing here is cleaning the feed rollers by having them turn against the pads with the cleaner on them. Next take out the tray, blot the pads somewhat dry and add paper to the tray, re-install the tray and try copying again.
Should feed paper now unless you have a mechanical issue.
to fix misalign and paper jam problem, follow this steps.
Load one or two sheets of unused plain white full-size paper into the document feeder tray, and then press Start Copy Black to pull the pages through the automatic document feeder. The plain paper releases and absorbs residue from the rollers and separator pad. NOTE: If the automatic document feeder does not pick up the plain paper, try cleaning the front roller. Wipe the roller with a soft lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water.
If the problem persists, or the automatic document feeder does not pick up the plain paper, clean the rollers and separator pad manually.
Follow the steps below to clean the rollers or separator pad.
1.Lift the cover of the automatic document feeder. This allows access to the rollers and the separator pad. 2.Lightly dampen a clean, lint-free cloth with distilled water, then squeeze any excess liquid from the cloth. 3.Use the damp cloth to wipe any residue off of the rollers or the separator pad. 4.Close the cover of the automatic document feeder. This should solve the problem. Cheers!
seems like the pick up roller and seperation pad are dirty or worn.try cleaning them with nail polish remover. the roller is located at the bottom of the printer where the leading edge of the paper is the seperation pad sits under the pick up roller.
CLEANING THE FEED ROLLER AND THE PAD Clean the feed roller and the pad when [391: Paper Jam] appears frequently. (1) Remove the paper cassette. (2) Clean the feed rollers (large and small) with tightly wrung wet cloth or an LED lens cleaner. Note! An LED lens cleaner is enclosed in an optional replacement toner cartridge. Feed roller (large) Feed roller (small) (3) Clean the pad on the paper cassette with tightly wrung wet cloth or an LED lens cleaner. Note! • If [392: Paper Jam] appears frequently, clean the second tray (option) in the same way. • If [390: Check MP Tray] appears frequently, clean the feed roller of the multi-purpose tray in the same way. Pad
If those rollers are turning, and not feeding even after cleaning they simply need replaced. they can get so slick that no ammount of cleaning will help.
Thats what is sounds like.
