Question about Dell UltraSharp 2001FP 20.1" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Vertical lines on left half of screen

My 2001FP has many many multi-colored vertical lines and they appear to take exactly 1/2 of the screen (left side). The problem comes and goes but is getting more frequent. When it comes, the underlying text is increasing unreadable for about 15 seconds then the solid vertical lines are all that can be seen. Any ideas?

Thanks.

My problem is identical. It starts with things on the left half of the screen getting fuzzy and flickery. Then a black vertical line will appear in the middle of the monitor. That vertical line will slowly advance left until the left 50% of the monitor is solid black and gray lines. It doesn't start to happen until the screen has been on for a few minutes.

The problem is the driver tabs that go from the panel controller board to the panel itself.

This is normally a fatal failure since having it repaired is extremely expensive.

How to fix Multi color Vertical Lines on a Vizio E470i-AO TV

Does the menu function display the same lines? What kind of cables are using ? (HDMI, Component vid, S-video, co-ax)
Were you as tenacious checking all cables/connections as you were the electronics? Lets rule out this all too often over-looked possibility.
Do you still get the lines with nothing connected to the TV? (no source connected)

Dell Latitude D505 half of screen is black with colored vertical lines.

Sounds like you have a section of dead pixels. This can happen if the laptop has been dropped a lot or stepped on or some type of impact on the laptop. This is a hardware issue. You will need to have the screen replaced. In my opinion, by the age of the laptop, its better off getting a new one.

2/5 of the screen has vertical lines multi colors. Is this a fixable problem?

My 3-year old 52-inch Toshiba flat panel TV (Model # 52RV53U, Serial # AM409000295) developed a display problem (purchased Aug. 2008, manufactured July 2008). Vertical multicolored lines appeared on the screen just left of center. The band of thin vertical bars is 5.5 inches wide. The lines are about 1/16-inch wide. They are stationary, always exactly in same place. They over-ride any other picture on the screen (no transparency). They are there all time even with no video inputs to the TV after the unit is turned on. See picture #1. The TV works well in every other respect, but, obviously, it is annoying to watch the picture with the color band blocking about 1/6 of the picture.

I already swapped out the TCON board with no improvement and replugged the TCON board cables with no improvement.

Most likely it is the flat panel tab bond failure (panel made by Samsung). Further resolution updates will be on my Facebook page.

I'm affraid to say that your screen has got a PDP/LCD fault. Just like a tube going on a TV. This is a fault which is beyond economical repair
