Hello, Had the same problem with the blinking green light. Read many articles and web postings concerning the problem. I pulled the DM module / board and removed the board from the metal casing and sure enough there were (4) bulging capacitors as I had read. I could only find 1000uf/35volt/85 degree C capacitors. I used those and TV started and works great. I will pick-up the 105 degree C capacitors and keep on hand in the event that they blow again. Whole thing took a few hours including running out to get the capacitors. Thanks to everyone and all of the postings as it help me narrow the problem and solve on my own without huge cost. Also, I could not get a TV repair shop toeven discuss the issue.

Start by pulling the DM board (looking from the back it is standing upright on the left side in a metal chassis) and you'll probably find 4 bad capacitors (bulging on the tops is a good indication, If i remember correctly they are near the top right corner)
you can buy replacements here..

Fixed mine this way several months ago..still working like new.

Good luck

Blinking green light of death on Mit WS55513. Changed the four 1000uf (35) capacitors on the DM board and it still won't work. Nothing has changed. Any help? Thankyou, sundayman1@msn.com

THEY are green and look like 1/2 watt resistor but will have amperage marked on them and the board--there at least 2 of them near the caps--if you need a photo of what they look like etower.766@netzero.net---Convergence chips will not cause the set to not boot up (the green light blinks and does not stop)

I do this here for free so if this information was helpful give me a vote here--good luck---if you cannot fix the receiver the only choice is to contact PTS electronics--you can ship it to them for repair/rebuild---part no longer is available from MITSUBISHI.

ther are some bad capacitors on the dm board in this tv, but this model is not layman friendly, we usually send in the entire chassis to Mitsubishi for a rebuild this cost about $300 then there is the cost of service also, this job will probably cost around $5 or 600 dollars.

ok.
#1. replaced capacitors on power board. DM board FMT board .
# 2 on power board you need to chek caps. 3300mf x 35 v.QTY 2.
# 3 12 capacitor 1000mf x 16 v.
If caps 1000mf x 16 v . looked good. replaced anyway......

You don't even have to replace the whole board. The problem is 4 capacitors (# depends on the model of the TV). Can be fixed for under $10, and a couple of hours of labor.

Check C81A2, C81A3, C81B3 and C81B4 (1000 uFD, 16V, 105C) on the DM PCB.
Check C8F19, C8F21, C8F22 and C8F27 (1000 uFD, 16V, 105C) on the FMT PCB.
If any are bad, replace all of them with part # 181P734030 (680 uFD, 16V, 105C).

I had the same problem with a WS 55813,2004 model.Paid 130.00 for local Mitsubishi authorized dealer that told me I needed a new DM module at an additional 505.00. Called Sears and they repaired the board for 146.00 by replacing four capasitors on the board. The tech said there is an exolaination on the web that explaines how to do this. He said this is a very common problem and carries 8 caps with him.He even had to do this to his own tv. The caps are worth 8.00 total.
