Having problems programming the door sensors on a GE Simon 3 unit. I get the units to communicate with the panel but every time some one goes in or out the door the alarm goes off and scares every to deat. Also, I can not get the unit to let me know when someone opens the door, the chime feature.

If your motion detector act like a door it is because it has been program like a door, you need to go back to the program delete your sensor, and reprogram it with a group 17 , right now it's probably program as a group 13 ( instant)
My understanding is that GE does not produce a wireless interior siren any longer. So if yo want to get a siren in the garage a wire will have to be run from the Simon 3 to the location in the garage where you would like to place the siren. PS ADT will not run wires to a detached garage. GL
First you need to have the installer code. Open the fromt panel of thealarm and enter in "4-3-2-1" (Default installer code) If it accepts this number then you can begin to program the doors and windows. If you don't knowtheinstaller code you mayneed to default the system and reprogram everything. If you contact meIcan walk you through the processor.
I'm having the same problem on a used Simon. I think the button is inside the wireless transmitter. It has a spring attached to it. Just press on the spring to send wireless signals to the panel. My problem is I press on the spring and the panel does not receive the signal, even with a $20 fresh Lithium Ion battery from Radio Shack.
try learming the sensor in by removing the back and actavation the tamper switch of the unit. also make sure that the unit is not already learned into the unit and if all else falil default the panel and start over.
you may have had a lighting strike to the phone line causing a surg to your unit. it may be fried. try completly powering down the system and powering it back up, then try to send a signal to your monitoring station. also you my have your monitorimg station try and connect to your system and check the programing it may have been scrambled.
The default for option 10 is 30 seconds and option 11 is 60 seconds.
It sounds like option 10 is turned off because when turned off the entry delay is set to 005 seconds. All entries must be 3 digits.
You ca set option 10 and 11 from 005-254 seconds. Hope this helps
