X2gen MV19 monitor: can only get VGA resolution

I know this is a cheapo monitor, but surely there's a way to improve resolution?

Although monitor settings show 1280 x 1024 @ 75hz, resolution is horrible, and monitor pops up a box with "VGA" in it.

Old Dell desktop, with 32mb ATI Rage 128 Ultra video adapter, best I could get was generic "Plug and Play Monitor" in display settings?

This monitor replaced a Nokia CRT display which, although ancient and the size of a school bus, displayed higher resolution.

Unscrew the monitor check behind the line transformer you will see two buttons for adjustment use them to increase your resolution manually

pls make sure the monitor is shut down for abt 15-30 minutes before you attempt opening it to avoid electric shock

Need driver download have new tower and lost CD for monitor X2GEN model MG19MY

Most monitors do not need additional drivers for them to function properly in Windows XP, Vista, and 7. If you are not able to set the monitors native resolution then look at your video card drivers. If these are not up to date, then you can see some very odd default resolutions.

Do you need a special driver for x2Gen 22 inch monitor with windows 7

You do not need drivers for monitor, just make sure you set the resolution output of your video card to the monitor native resolution and set the refresh rate to 60Hz. Make sure you do have win7 driver for your video card.

I have an old X2Gen MG19MY flat panel monitor with no drivers

It may be that you just need to download drivers for the monitor from manufacturer web site, and insstall. depending on how old the system is, video card may not be able to handle the operating system if it is using shared memory with the video card. Not enough info. did it all work on the previous operating system, and what resolution did it run at.
elah4@zoominternet.net for more info, to help with problem.

good luck

When i plug my computer in to the vga port i get a message on the screen saying out of range

That message is usually a sign that the computer is set to a high resolution, and the monitor doesn't support it.
You can go to the Settings and change it to a lower resolution

Monitor says out of range when i start windows 7

When you start the computer, press F8 continually until you get a menu that will allow you to start in VGA mode.
You apparently have the resolution set too high.
You may be able to reset it in safe mode, also.

Conecte mi laptop toshiba al monitor X2GEN y no se ve nada

There should be a VGA port on the side of your laptop so you can plug the monitors cable into your laptop.
But I can tell you more if you give me the model numbers of the laptop and monitor.
