This dryer is 1.5 years old and lately has started to have an uneven flopping noise when the tup spins. The dryer is level. When we were looking into the tub, we noticed that it was separating at one of the seems (like the spot weld had came undone). Anyway, just checking to see if there are any solutions.
After 6 weeks of complaining the dryer was finally repaired. They replaced the drum and roller kit. LG did extend my warranty. I live in rural AL and all the service locations I called refused to do warranty work for LG. Apparently they don't pay their bills in a timely manner. I'll never purchase another LG appliance. Good luck to you all..
The drum has a broken weld and needs to be replaced. Call LG to grant a one time extended warranty to address this issue. This is a defect problem with their drums.

We have the same problem - uneven flopping, or thunking, noise when the dryer is operating. Our dryer is just over 1 year old. Any advice for solving this problem is greatly appreciated.
I am experiencing the same problem stated above. My dryer is also 1.5 years old. It definitely appears that the spot weld has come undone on one end. I spoke with LG customer service and the best they did was give me the name of local repair shops. If your dryer is not more then 3 months out of warranty it might be possible to have LG fix it (at least that is what the customer service rep implied). Good luck.
Same here - dryer is 1 1/2 years old, but bought it at Best Buy with an extended warranty. Will check back in after he comes in on Friday and tells me what the problem is!
