Question about Canon PIXMA MP470 All-in-One Printer
Bought machine in late Oct07 at Staples. Just opened the box after settlement w/ Canon over $50 rebate. Got it up and running. Prints OK, but black ink spot on every page in the same spot, about 2" in from LHS and 1/3 of the way down. It is odd-shaped, about the size of a fat pencil eraser. It is there, whether using black or color print button. I looked at black cartridge, no other excess ink. Pls help.

I think your printer requires a little servicing. Those spots are usually caused by a dirty gamma wire, and probably the fuser is requiring a replacement. Both tasks can be done on-site, but require a little knowledge of the printer internal parts.
