Water dispenser lever is broke, is this something that I can fix myself or is it better left to a repairman

On my FRIGIDAIRE MODEL: PLHS69EGSS side by side
1st, unplug or turn breaker off for refrig. 2nd, remove the slide out drip tray, 3rd, remove the 3 bottom screws at the bottom of the dispenser bezel (behind the drip tray). 4th, remove the bezel (slide up about 1/4" and pull forward, gently), WHEN DOING THIS BE VERY CAREFUL YOU DON'T ACCIDENTLY UNPLUG THE CONTROL BOARD FROM THE MAIN BOARD. 5th, remove the 3 screws holding the dispenser mechanism in place. 6th, remove the water dispensing hose from the dispensing mechanism., 7th, carefully unplug the power supply to the main board. hold down the clip to do this. 8th, with the dispenser out, remove the water dispenser lever plug from the coil board, 9th, remove the 2 screws for the metal hold downs for the lever pivot.
Be SURE YOU LOOK AT HOW THE SPRING IS LOADED. OTHERWISE THE LEVER WILL NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY.
chances are, you will have difficulty removing the water hose from the dispenser unit. I did. I also had a harder time trying to get it back in. The factory hose is pretty rigid and I figured there mus be a better way. I had some 1/4" clear hose from home depot. I got a piece of 1/4' tubing and made a splice from the factory tubing to the clear, flexible tubing. The flexible tubing allows you to have additional tubing to play with and makes the job much, much easier. good luck

How do I remove my water dispenser lever that was broken on my Defy refrigerator model C425

You should hire an appliance repair person to do this job. I have to assume you want to replace the lever with a new one. It is better to pay a pro than get into a problem deeper than you can fix on your own and have to hire a pro anyway.

Samsung rf4287hars ice dispenser doesn't work

The whole unit must be removed and unplugged. There is a screw in the bottom near the dispenser opening. Remove this screwn and then take a butter knife and start prying the unit outword.

The lever that operates the microswitch may be broken and was on mine. This part is cheap plastic and breaks when over entended in the least. If the actuation lever is broken, you will NOT feel any resistance when pressing the Ice despenser and will push on through to dispense water. Problem is there is NO fix for this except replacement and Samsung will not pay for it.

I fashioned a piece of bailing wire in place of the lever that will act the same and have a little spring incase someone presses to hard with their cup/glass. Yes... its bailing wire and works great. You must drill through the middle of the broken support, fashion the wire, coat with super glue and put in position pretty quick. 43e0da13-0ab4-425d-8cad-f17e16cccb58.jpg

If you find a small plastic piece on the floor and your ice maker stops dispensing.... I think I know your problem.

My water line in my Kitchen Aid side by side refrig is not working. No it is not a frozen line as I checked for that. I stopped getting water after someone shoved a glass real hard in the water dispenser.

Hello. Apparently that glass broke the lever which is actually controlling a valve, so the valve may be what is actually broken. The only fix would be to call your local large appliance repair person. Hope this helps you.

Water left in fabric dispenser after load

Hi,

The dispensers work by the siphon principle. You load the softener and at the proper time, the machine diverts water to the softener cup raising the level. In the softener cup, there is a tube loosely covered with a cap. When the level in the softener cup is raised high enough, a siphon effect is started and the softener is pulled from the cup into the washer. This will continue until the water quits flowing and air gets under tha cap, breaking the siphon. The amount of water remaining in the cup is dependent on the level of the cap, and the amount of residual water remaining in the dispenser fill tube once the siphon effect is broken. You can see this effect for yourself: take a measuring cup and slowly pour water into the softener cup, raising the level above the max line. When the level gets high enough, the contents of the cup will dispense. You can remove the cover cap that is a part of the dispenser and clean it; it will help. Removing the entire tray and cleaning all of the tubes and the cap assembly will also help. The only other thing that can be done is to change the dispensing supply valve, as it sounds like there may be some leak by after the fabric softener is dispensed. Having residual water isn't really hurting anything. It's only water, and the machine has dispensed the softener! Try the cleaning part first as this usually corrects the issue, and then the repair technician if it still bothers you. For as much as the extnded warranty costs, you should be completely satisfied with your machine.
Best regards, --W/D--

Water line broken for Kenmore refrigerator near compressor

Cut off a piece of line and go to a good hardware store, they can show you how to fix it. Need a coupling, and a nut and ferrel. House water line goes on one end of coupling, nut and ferrel on the broken water line on fridge. A good hardware store will be able to show you how to fix.

Dispenser motor

Did the repairman replace anything? Do you still need assistance? If so...the dispenser motor and switch can be checked by removing the connector plug from the Central Control Unit (CCU). This is the 4th connector from the Left in the front of the control board. A resistance reading across pins 1 & 3 on the connector should read 1400 ohms. Readings across pins 5 & 6 should read 0 ohms. If any of the readings are abnormal, replace the dipenser motor and switch assembly. If the readings are normal, you may have an actuator cam on the dispenser that is not functioning properly. Or, spring lever & connection lever that are broken. All the parts combined would cost you less than $60 if you pursue the option of repairing this yourself. Searspartsdirect.com has the parts you need. Just type in your model number and the parts will be listed as items 11, 12, 13, 15 and 16 under the "Dispenser" heading. More than likely the motor is good and you have something wrong with either the switch or the spring lever and/or connection lever. I hope this helps you.

Water dispenser lever on Frigidaire

My Frigidaire side by side is a little different from tech17's solution. It has no slots for a screwdriver to pry it off. It is a model FLSC23F6D55 manufactured 3/05. There is a semicircular spill tray in the bottom of the recessed water station. Just pry out the tray, from the bottom corner of the frame from the side and or bottom. (I did this with a knife blade.) This tray is a snap-in fit. Then you will see three phillips head screws in the bottom of the frame. Take out these three screws and remove the frame by lifting up on it and pulling out at the bottom. Then take out three more phillips mounting screws to remove the processor card and key pad. You will then see the top of the water lever mounting. The lever comes out by removing two more screws that hold the pivot shaft of the lever. (These last screws are a little more diffiucult to get to, but not anywhere near impossible.) I wish you well.
