Question about Toshiba B-SV4D Label Printer

1 Answer

Set up We're trying to set up the SV4D to print parcel force labels. The machine doesn't print on the print area, it jams after ever print. we have set it up so that the sensor sees the the break between lables rather than the "black line". Is there a sensible set up dcoument because we have wasted hlf a box of lables trying to get it to print a single lable on the normal print area and not jam The lables are on a strip rather than a role - size 100 x 150

Hi I have the same problem with this ******** printer. I’m printing from a continuous roll and despite the number of 6” x 4” labels I request I get one then that stupid flashing red light comes on and Windows tells me I’m out of paper even though it’s a brand new roll.

Have so far spent about 2 hours trying to resolve the problem without success. My advice is look elsewhere but investigate label costs first before buying the printer.

May be your problems can be solved doing a calibration. To do this, turn off the printer, press the feed key and turn on the printer. When the led flashes in red quickly release the feed key, the printer will start to calibrate and after the calibration will feed one label.

It is explained in the user manual.

Own three CP3525dn's (purchased new). Two have recently begun jamming [fuser wrap] when printing labels. If it doesn't jam then the paper usually "dog ears" coming out. New fuser did not...

Over time, printing labels builds up a light residue of the adhesive (due to heat pressing) used on the labels in the paper path. A thorough cleaning of all paper path parts with alcohol prep pads, or Glass Plus and quality paper towels, will reduce this gum build up.

You should regularly print standard paper jobs on a laser printer that will be printing labels. Rule of thumb is 4:1 - four sheets of regular paper print for each sheet of labels printed. This helps keep the adhesive cleaned out of the paper path.

Patience and a lot of scrubbing should do the trick, though you may have to install a printer maintenance kit early given the issues noted. Printing labels cuts maintenance kit duration in half, at a minimum.

Programmatically printing using C#

You can print labels with windows driver or sending scape commands. If you have problems with the escapes you will design the label with bartender (you have a demo in the CD) and when you have finished with the design you can print to a file. Open that file and you will find all escape command needed to print.

There may be a small piece of label cutting stuck in the gears. remove the label cartredge, you will see a white gear set between the pinch wheel and the print head. Use a micro drive or something strong and give the gears a little help while pushing the print button. You may have to do this several times. Be careful not to use too much force as this may knock a tooth off. Good luck. My Dymo continues to print prefet labels.

The tec printer functions like any other printer on a windows PC through the use of a driver. You can print to this printer from any application as long as the page you are trying to print matches the label size of the printer.
I hope this helps :)
