It could be several things--- a clog, a jammed or broken drain pump iimpeller, a burned out drain pump motor, or the control is not sending power to the drain pump.

If you can hear the drain pump running (you might have to get down on fhe floor), then you should try something simple first. The drain from the dishwasher is probably a rubber hose that connects to the side of your garbage disposal. It might be clogged right there. Loosen or remove the clamp that holds that hose to the disposal. Put a stick in the hole and wiggle it around. Do the same in the hose. Put the hose back on and try it again. If this doesn't fix it, you will again have water in the dishwasher to deal with. :(
.
If you can't hear the drain pump running, it just might be a pretty quiet motor, or the problem will take a little more doing.

The pipe or filter may be clogged. To check this, pour clean water through the drain. If it is clogged, use a plunger to drain the objects causing the blockage, if you are unable to successfully remove them, seek help from a plumber.

The valves that close when water is discharged is a check valve. If the valve is worn, damaged, or non-functional, it will not shut and fluids will flow back into the interior of the washer. If a hose is kinked, the same thing may happen. Check to see if the port leading to the drain is plugged?

Bosch SHU runs even when the door is open, what do i need?

Hi Jeffrey,

This depends what you mean by "runs". If the dishwasher continues with a wash cycle - i.e. circulating water - with the door open, the simple answer is that you have a defective door microswitch.

However, I suspect what you perceive to be the dishwasher running, is actually the drain pump running continuously. This happens when the anti-flood protection system has been activated and continues even when the door is opened. The simplest way to check is to open the door (while it's "running") and pour some water into the tub. If the water drains away immediately, this shows the drain pump is running and the anti-flood protection has been activated.

This may be due to water having leaked into the base of the dishwasher, but it could be as simple as a stuck or defective float-switch.

Please try the simple test above then post back for further assistance. If you're planning to investigate or repair this yourself, you're going to need a Torx T20 screwdriver and a multi-meter would be useful as well.

Brand new beko DE 2542 PW dishwasher won't start wash cycle

Hello,
It sounds as if the d/washer is pressurising due to a blocked outlet drain hose.

Make sure that the drain for the dishwasher is actually clear take hose out of the drain outlet. On some of the Beko dishwashers they put a plug up inside the drain hose which has to be removed before use or if it is a new installation and it is draining into a "U" bend on a sink check that the little spigot that the hose is onto is actually open. They come from the plumbers merchants blanked if blanked then you have to cut the end off to suit size of hose.I hope this has helped.

Good Luck.

My BEKO dishwasher is turned off but there is a constant dribble of water running in to the machine. If I open the door when this has happened, it leaks water all over the floor. This means I have to keep turning the machine on to drain the water away.

I have a 2yr old Beko D2731FW dishwasher that has recently started to not wash things properly and leaving a gritty residue on everything. I run a dishwasher cleaner through it on a monthly basis and the...

Hello Senseless,
Although I am not familiar with your specific brand and model dishwasher, I can offer you some advice on how to clean things up.. First off, remove all dishes from the cleaning compartment racks.. then your dishwasher may or may not have a drain screen or filter near where the water exits that compartment to be pumped out.. rclean that filter thoroughly. Then run the dishwasher on its hottest cycle setting ( without dishes inside ) and after about 5-10 minutes..pause it and add in a cup or two of white vinegar then restart it.. Let the dishwasher complete the cycle and try washing dishes with it. That technique should cleanse deposits of components inside the dishwasher and everything should work as designed. I am assuming that you aren't getting any backflow from the drain system back into the wash area from the drain hose/pump and associated connections. If you are, you may need to give that plumbing a thorough cleaning too. Let me know if after you've tried this, you were successful.. If not, then I can provide you with a few other things that may help..
Regards,
Rick
