Question about HP Photosmart 2575 All-In-One Printer, Scanner, Copier
Before condeming the Carriage or movement of jamming path try cleaning the Encoder strip that is behind the carriage . This strip is resposible for what the carriage needs to do. From start-up to actually understand what to print. Be extra careful not to pull of tug on this plastic strip. Over time with all ink type printers over spray settles on this strip. . This obstructs the "reading' process of the carriage. This then goes into a Carriage stuck, remove jam and press the OK, checkmark. Hope thiss helps.Steve

SOURCE: print cartridge cradle stuck
There seems to be a problem with the cradle not "lifting" itself up and over what appears to be some sort of guide. Rock the cradle gently back by hand (it will only move a few millimeters) and move it all the way to the right into its bay. Cycle the printer power and it should be fine.

SOURCE: Print Cartridge stuck
Look at the pad on the right side of the printer under where the ink cartridges are loaded. It may have ink deposits built up into lumps which interfere with the movement of the cartidges on the rod. Clean the deposits by scraping the lumps and removing all debris. This worked for me.
