Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-32FS120 32" TV
Red Time Light blinkng four times and then pauses, and then four times more, and will not stop. The set is black...no visdeo or audio....and will not respond to either the remote or the manual power. The cable box is working perfectly...and so are other TV sets in the house. This appears to be a common problem with SONY Trintrons. Why doesn't the company respond to this malfunction of design?
The four blinks indicate a vertical deflection problem. I would suspect either bad connections on the vertical IC or a defective IC. This IC is a small flat IC with about 9 pins or so and should be marked LA7837 or something similar. Try resoldering the pins first. If that does not resolve the problem, replace the IC.
You may also need to replace some capacitors in the circuit, but try the IC first and keep us updated.
