Re: phillips go gear
Make sure the GoGear is disconnected from the computer first. Hold in the volume + button, and continue to hold the volume + button as you reconnect the GoGear to the PC. Once connected, after continuing to hold the volume + button for up to 60 seconds, Windows will go into recovery mode and resuscitate the GoGear.

There is a hard reset on the player if you examine very closely and so if the player has hung up then you can reset so that the processor returns to the stable state.
However if the battery has not charged or there is a hardware fault then it will not reset not restart.
Please check up for warranty in this case with the nearest philips support center.

If it is freezing, update the firmware. Download the newest version of the Philips Device Manager: www.usasupport.philips.com - change your country/language as needed Enter in your exact model # Click on the link for your exact model # Click on the Software & Drivers section Click on "Firmware Upgrade Software" Install the new Device Manager Open and run the "Update" tab -Tha Mp3 Doctor
after installing this file, go to your philips media converter and add the videos you wanna convert, and convert it... after that jus copy the converted video files to the "videos" folder in your player....
if you have added any files and still your player doesn't detect it, then make sure you've copied it to the right folder... also check if those files are compatible with your player... sa3125/97 supports mp3, wma, n smv media files... n jpeg images...
The freezing at 87% suggests hardware malfunction, but you can try all of the "soft" fixes to be sure -
Triple Reset for GoGear: Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.
After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player.
Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.

Go to the Phillips website to find out the button combination to reset your player. I have a Phillips mp3 player, and I have to reset it every once in a while. If that does not work, call Phillips support.
The same thing happened to me. I contacted Philips and they sent me this solution, which worked for me.
My GoGear has no power/no display even connected to the power supply with the AC adapter. What should I do?
Do a soft reset by pressing and holding the Power On/OFF button and the volume + key for a couple of seconds.
Then connect your GoGear to a power outlet with the AC Adapter to charge the player again for around 30 minutes.
Try turning the unit back on and see if the display appears.
If the display is able to come on again, keep the player connected for another 3-4 hours until it is fully charged before use, else contact our Customer Care Center for assistance.
