Question about Keurig Ultra B50 1-Cup Coffee Maker

Open Question

Loud water pump

When the machine is pumping water from the resevoir it makes a loud grinding and vibrating noise. I called Keurig, and they tell me this is normal. Any ideas on how to stop/quiet this noise?

Same thing. Brand new, awful grinding/vibrating noise. Exactly what you don't want before you've had that first cup. We've done nothing so far other than this research to see if we were alone here. Considering just returning it, though might try a thin rubber mat base first, just in case.

Keurig b70 Have the same problem the machine almost moves on the counter from vibration and the noise is very annoying

We have the same problem. Tried placing a rubber mat underneath, and a stack of placemats. Both helped to muffle the sound a bit, but still annoyingly loud.

Ditto. Another who owns one had same experience. Personally, it's a deal breaker. Not the sort of ambiance for relaxing with your favorite soothing hot beverage. And the cobalt blue lights - just 'cold'.

I love my machine but I HATE the noise! My husband and I work different shifts, so it oftens wakes one of us up. I'm wondering if we should upgrade for a more silent cup in the morning?

SOURCE: the water pump does not appear to be working

The Keurig machine is either clogged with coffee grounds or the air bladder needs to be replaced. Use the key tool under the tray to clean out machine. If this does not work you can have the machine repaird. I hope this works.

I have 2 Cuisinart Coffee makers. Both make loud humming noises during the pump cycle. In my units, the water reservoir vibrates when the pump is active. Test by hand pressure on the water reservoir when brewing.
I experimented with adhesive foam pads and they worked well but...they eventually fell off. I often just push the unit against the wall behind it.

The water tank is probably not seated correctly. It can look as though it is, but you have to make sure the forward edge of it has been tilted so that the angled indentation in the plastic exactly mates with the machine. If it doesn't, water is not drawn from the tank, the pump makes a noise, and steam comes from the pod area.

The loud buzzing is the water pump, sometimes they are loud on the beginning, And the reason is there is no water in the pump. It should get better.
These small espresso machines have a vibration pump (this is the official name), And the name says it all.

Make extremely loud noise when you first turn it on and it heats the water and again after each cup of coffee

This the water pump when is working. It should make loud noise. In extreme case in very loud but after a while it become less loud. If just consider that other smaler models have a smaler pump which is silent pump but they dont have it work always so in you case you a very good coffee result.

I just solved this problem with my Keurig Plantnum. It seems that the valve that lets the water in is sensitive to clogs or sticking. Or perhaps like me, you have very hard water and calcium is starting to build up. Anyway, what worked for me was filling the resevoire all the way and turning the unit on. Then while the pump was buzzing I lightly jiggled the reseviore and all of the sudden the water level started to go down.

Water compartment loud sound

The pump might have fallen of the rubber supports in shipping. No it is not normal for it to make too loud of a noise when getting water. There should be a small amount of vibrating but not overbearing.

Hi Hi rolo 124,

does the pump make noise? If so, you can try to fill up the hose with water, sometimes it works. If the noise ist first loud then less loud may be that the water cant flow, because the whole maschine is calcified, try to decalcify, best and secure way with tartaric acid. If there is no noise, the pump may be damaged, or there is a fuse blown (mechanical or electric) at the pump.

Good luck
