Question about Canon PowerShot A75 Digital Camera

No display at all. But able to take pictures with Canon A75

My camera's display screen is not working when turned on. It is able to take the pictures perfectly, as I can transfer the taken picture to computer and view them. Also the display does show the images when turned on using the Remote shooting functionality from PC.

The only problem is the display does not work (shooting & preview mode) when the camera is being used without computer (i.e. during normal operation).

I even have tried new batteries/fully charged batteries with the camera but did not work.

If anyone has any solution to this please help me.

    Thanks for the above suggestion.
But this is not helping me in turning the display on. I keep on toggling the display button but the display does not come on the camera screen.

Please provide any other information if available.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes the camera is able to take pictures with black display. I can connect it to computer and transfer the pictures and they look perfect as expected.

The only problem is it does not display it on Camera LCD screen.

I have the exact same problem as blackysmith - I am able to take pictures with my camera, but the screen is all black - exept for one setting (the setting where you can take several pictures and "add" to each other). The screen just suddenly turned black as I was taking pictures. I tried to reset, but nothing happened. I'd appreaciate it if someone has a solution to the problem!

Resetting the camera did not help me.

    Thanks

Sounds like you might have accidentally turned the display off. Turn on the camera and press the DISP button once on the back of your camera.

Have you taken any pictures with the display black? If not, try taking a picture with the black display, then download to your computer to see if the picture is also black. If so, Canon may fix this problem for you for free. Please try the above and let me know how it worked out.

The next thing to try would be restting the camera to its factory settings. To do such, turn on the camera and hold the menu button down for longer than 5 seconds. A message should hopefully come up on your LCD asking if you want to reset the camera. Select Yes.

I have the same problem. I took pictures with screen black and downloaded to my computer and they are also black. I also reset to the factory setting by holding down the menu button, but still have the same issue. Please help.

Canon A75 No startup sound & display on LCD, rest of things works fine

Think it might be your batteries. 700mah batteries are pretty weak by today's standards (most are at least 2,500 mah these days). I'm guessing your batteries are several years old? If so, they're really only meant to have a usable shelf life of a few years, whether they are used or not. Recommend trying a new set of rechargeable batteries.

Canon A75 displays images in pink

The problem could be either the display screen has partially failed (red green or blue color is not displaying) OR the screen's connection to the control board needs to be cleaned. Either repair requires disassembly. The charge at my shop would be $49 labor plus parts if required.
