IF YOU HAVE A SOLID BLACK LINE RUNNING VERTICALLY THEN YOU HAVE A FAULTY MATRIX INVERTER. IF CENTRAL THE MAIN VERTICAL INVERTER NEEDS CHANGED. LEFT = LEFT VERTICAL INVERTER RIGHT=RIGHT.........
ANOTHER WAY TO GET THIS FAULT IS WORN OR DAMAGED RIBBON/PLASTIC GOING FROM THE SCREEN MATRIX TO THE INVERTER
Hope this will help out in solving the problem....
Vertical lines in the display indicate a failing screen. New screens are expensive and not worth the labor and parts charges to repair it. It's new monitor time.
This would denote some kind of vertical sync problem. I would begin by checking the vert sync circuitry. To do this you will have to have an Oscilloscope, and DVD containing a steady-state picture. The oscilloscope is used to measure the vertical sync rate and the vertical sync pulses. Taking into mind that ther is a video signal present but it is in the black range. If you do not have an oscilloscope it makes troubleshooting this hard. in any event you will also need a schematic to see what waveforms you should be seeing.
If you do not have a background in electronics you may have to have someone who does look at this unit.
