The memory module is on the base of the laptop. It is the centre with the hard disk to its left and should be marked RAM at the side of it.

If you use the link below you will get a picture of where its:

Acer travelmate 2700 bios password and where is the CMOS battry on the mother board

Hi there,

your bios battery is soldered into the mainboard, its under the keyboard, next to the modem board and the bios chip itself.

In order to get to the battery you would first have to dissasemble the laptop, remove the keyboard, power buttons, and the top of the machine. You may also have to remove the display if its holding the top of the cover in place.

Removing the battery is no guarantee of reseting the password. You need to study the bios chip and find out which pins of it you need to short in order to reset its memory. In some cases the password might be stored on another chip.

I would like to replace the kepboard on my Acer laptop, please can you tell me how to remove and fit the keyboard. I have an Acer travelmate 4202WLMi

Follow the guide below, just copy and paste the link to your web browser address bar. It is the service manual for that laptop. It is in PDF form so make sure you have the free adobe reader installed. The keyboard removal starts on page 58 and runs through page 59.
Basically open the laptop as wide as it will go, then on the right side of the cover above the keyboard, pry the right side up and gradually work it up while moving to the left. The cover will pop right off once you get going. Then remove a single screw holding the keyboard in place, fold the keyboard toward you and release the cable socket hold ing the keyboard data cable.

Toshiba Satellite How to remove keyboard and upgrade memory modules. This post was written by cj2600 on April 28, 2006
Posted Under: Toshiba Satellite A20/A25 --> toshiba-satellite-a20-a25-memory.jpgRemoving and replacing memory on a Toshiba Satellite A20 or A25 notebook is not as easy ad it should be. Both memory modules are located under the keyboard. A laptop keyboard has to be replaced in order to get access to the memory modules. Before you remove the keyboard do not forget to remove the laptop battery or you can damage the laptop. Be careful when you remove the keyboard securing strip; do not bend it too much. To remove the memory module from the slot on the system board, release the latches on both sides and the memory module will pop up. It will stay at a 30 degree angle to the system board. Firmly grasp the memory module and remove it from the slot.

Travelmate 2310 keyboard and touchpad problem

Boot up the system (without the battery).
When the system runs normaly then place the battery on its normal bay.
Shut down bij removing the power from the system.
* Make sure you have not installed any Windows power saving tools, meaning let it run on the battery till it dies *
Wait till the systems shuts down by itself.
Boot your system again (with the battery in its bay and everything will work out fine.
Shuting down by removing the power support (AC) booting up AND your keyboard with touchpad will work again.
So intill you have a new battery, you need to shut-down by removing the AC power and leave the battery in its bay.
You can not shut-down on the normal way any more untill you have replaced the battery.

Replacing DVD drive on Acer Travelmate 2428

There are two screws that hold the CD/DVD drive in place on a laptop. I'm not familiar with your particular model but these screws are sometimes located on the bottom of the case and marked as such, others have them located under the keyboard. If you don't see them on the case bottom, look in your owners manual and see if it describes how to lift the keyboard. I don't recommend you try removing the keyboard without some clear instructions to follow as its real easy to break something on a laptop if you don't know what your doing.
