When you recomend replacing the " flex cable" to rectify inoperative key pad (except power key), are you referring to the oinion skin from the keypad in the lower tracing to the upper halves? If this is your experience then I defer to it, but it does seem strange that the power still works when none of the others will.

Re: v3 freeze... same old.
Yup I agree.. I have the same issue going on with my Hubbys phone right this minute.. I have a Flex cable on the way for it.. Just the Keypad is lit on mine.. But the Flex Cable is the one cable that controls the LCD the side buttons and the key pad and yes its the cable you see running in back if you take the battery out.

Your motorola RAZR V3 cellular phones has a solution,Most V3 versions of phones have one specific problem.which is flex problem.when ever your using your phone and your keypads does not respond,No that is the flex cause the flex is connected from the screen to the keyboard.so you can change the flex of your phone.
it shows that you are having flex cable issues - common problem with the v3. you would have to bring it to a local repair shop or order a keypad flex and button flex cable to do yourself.
the parts are about $15-40 and a shop will charge about $25 to install
if all else fails contact me and we can help arrange it.
To solve this you need to clean up the flex cable
in the screen. To do this u need 2 take your phone to an authorised phone repair person to get it done. If this doesn't work to need 2 replace the main flex cable.
