Just need to know more for a better idea - What were you last working on? Are you getting a bios error or how do you know it is a bios problem? Can you reboot and select Setup just as it powers on? (usually F12 or delete button just as you see power up graphic). Start in safe mode?

If it's a tecra 8100 model, the power on password can be removed. You can either make your own parallel port adapter that will short out the password (I've done that), or you can buy one (like on ebay) and that'll get your bios password removed.

Hi Omar,

I understand your problem , All you need to do now , is to go in the security settings of your BIOS and change the protection type.

If you have kept the protection on system mode then it will ask you for a password every time you boot your laptop.

You need to change this to BIOS mode or the other mode which is present and it would solve your problem.

Hope this helps...:)

The BIOS password is stored in CMOS memory that is maintained while the PC is powered off by a small battery, which is attached to the motherboard. If you remove this battery, all CMOS information (including the BIOS password) will be lost. You will need to re-enter the correct CMOS setup information to use the machine.
Or you can try using a Backdoor BIOS password, these passwords are typically used for testing and maintenance. Manufacturers typically change the backdoor BIOS passwords from time to time. For Toshiba, you can try using Toshiba as the password. I hope that helps.

I have problem in my laptop that when i am trying to start it shows 'enter Password' in blue screen with black background on the screen.

There is a documented problem with this unit that sounds like what you are experiencing. In the link at: you’ll find a couple for links to possible solutions.
You can call Toshiba to explain your problem. As I understand it, they will remove the BIOS password at no charge even if the laptop is out of warranty. Both of the posted solutions have you doing things that are farily technical, either from a dissassembly standpoint or a software standpoint. If you don't thnk you'd be comfortable and have time to wait until business hours, I'd suggest you call Toshiba.

One you have it resolved you should upgrade the BIOS to the latest version by downloading and installing from the Toshiba web site to prevent it from happening again.

Please help me !! i need Toshiba A135-S2276 PW cmos default .

The BIOS password is removed by the BIOS configuration, you need the BIOS password to get into the BIOS configuration. But if you do not have the BIOS password then you need to construct this dongle device.
You can build a dongle that plugs into the printer port.Purchase a 25 pin male D sub connector and solder insulated wires to the various pins as listed below. The pins are numbered on the connector this is a picture of the finished dongle

Wire the pins as follows :-1-5-10, 2-11, 3-17, 4-12, 6-16, 7-13, 8-14, 9-15
Plug the finished dongle in the printer port and power up the laptop. The password will be reset, go into the BIOS configuration to check the BIOS password, you may have to disable the BIOS password.

My Toshiba boots up with Black screen with a blue box saying Enter Current Password: in white lettering.

i think its power on password The Power On password is set in the System BIOS options. It prevents unwanted users from accessing the computer. By default, does not set the Power On password. If you set the Power On password in the System BIOS options you will be prompted for it immediately after you power on the Notebook PC

if you dont know the password go for a toshiba serviceing center for solve this
