Am using Asus X5DC notebook pc, my keyboard is very bad that no button is working. I bought an external keyboard that has no fn button. What do I do???

External keyboards do not have the Fn button because that feature is a laptop-specific characteristic. The Fn buttons are coded into the laptop to control specific features of the device. Thus no generically-supplied external keyboard can be expected to be able to replicate the functions. You are best to purchase a new keyboard for the laptop. They are usually not too expensive and can often be replaced rather easily. Some laptops are more difficult than others, but there are many videos on YouTube that show how to do these.
In fact, here is a link to a YouTube video showing how easy it is to remove your keyboard. They don't get much easier than yours....

If you Google "ASUS X5DC Keyboard, you'll find you can get a replacement keyboard for 20-25 USD.

Asus x5dc cant find wireless key where is it ?

That means the wifi radio in the laptop is not on. Some laptops allow you to turn it off to conserve battery time. May want to check that.

Some ASUS laptops don't have a physical wireless switch. Instead, you toggle the wireless transmitter ON and OFF by pressing the function key and the F2 key at the same time, i.e. <FN> + <F2>.

There should be a button on the side, and if there isn't it's still possible. Just turn it on in Network and Sharing center. Hope I helped. :)

try holding down FN then press F2 ...

Cant turn on wireless on Asus X5DC

you might have "hotkey" functions on this machine--see if you have different coloured stenciling on the keys -otherwise find out "hotkey" functions from manua--is this model X5ORL-or similar?(core duo?)
on other machines Fn-F2 toggles wi-fi on and off

Where is the turn wireless on on my asus x5dc

there are a few ways.
there is a switch on the left side of your computer.
Fn+F2
and also Go to:
control panel / device manager / network adapters
then choose Atheros AR928X Wireless Network Adapter, press right mouse button and select enable from falldown menu

When you purchase only a wireless mouse it will normally come with a USB connection dongle/adapter which allow your mouse to connect to your Laptop.

Press "Fn and F2" together and let go and it will show wireless :)

Had similar Problem asus x5dc wouldn't start automatically on windows start up works fine now go to asus website downloads enter model os etc ASUS Wireless Switch (Wireless Console3) Utilityand install

TO OPEN THE WIRELESS ON asus X5DC YOU press F2 or function with

Hi I am using AsusX5DC notebook pc, the keyboard is very bad to the extent that no button is working. I got an external keyboard that I connect to the laptop through usb. But the keyboard does not have the 'fn' button, which means I cannot on the wireless network.
The on-screen keyboard has an fn button but doesn't work using it.
Please help me with other alternatives to switch on the wireless network.
