I have a palm Treo 650 with Bluetooth and have recently bought a new car with Bluetooth but cannot get the car audio system to recognise my Palm Treo despite fact that works fine with my wife's and my son's mobile phones. Any way around this problem?

The treo says it can find the HANDS FREE device but when the pass key is entered it is not recognised.

  • Rob Brun Mar 17, 2008

The one which the car audio bluetooth system specifies, a 4 digit numerical code - 1111

  • Rob Brun Mar 18, 2008

No good. Palm says "unable to add hands free to your trusted device list" and car audio says you have used wrong passkey.

By paired devices you mean other Bluetooth linked devices? If so I have none.

  • Rob Brun Mar 19, 2008

Just to let you know, Problem solved! My son tried to set up using your passkey configured into both the PDA and the car audio - No go. Tried again but whilst they were trying to link up he made a call from my PDA to another phone and it linked up!! Bit of luck but it worked! Thought you might find that helped for other customers. Thanks for your help

Ok, so your treo is looking for and finds the car bluetooth device. What passkey did you enter?

    1111 doesn't work?

    Try 0000

Try removing all the paired devices in your Palm and try pairing again.

I am using Windows 7 and want to Hotsync my 1000s of Memo Notes from My Palm Treo 650, I got the latest Palm Desktop and Hotsync Manager but My Computer cannot Hotsync or even detet my Treo 650....Pls...

Palm Desktop compatibility with Windows 7 and 64-bit editions Palm Desktop 6.2 was designed for 32-bit editions of Windows XP and Windows Vista. You may be able to use this software with other versions of Windows.
Windows 7: Many users have successfully installed and used Palm Desktop 6.2 with Windows 7. Palm has not done thorough testing with a range of third-party equipment running Windows 7, therefore Palm cannot guarantee compatibility.
64-bit editions of Windows: USB HotSync is not supported. Instead, synchronize through a Bluetooth wireless connection: set up Bluetooth HotSync.

My voice drops out on palm treo 650

Sorry, no solution - just some added info. I have the same problem with a Palm Centro. Changed sim card (O2) but no improvement. Palm eventually replaced Centro, but fault persists. Anyone with similar problems / solutions?

How do I export contacts from a Palm 650?

First thing what is your new phone you using now?
If still the same palm operating system, what you need to do is just 1.export your contact from your palm desktop. After that you create a new ac for your palm desktop then import the file you export just now to the palm desktop again. If you are using windows mobile repeat the number 1.then go to your active sync user ac and import from the file you export just now.

Vista hotsync

Older palm products and vista aren't compatible. You either needs to transfer info via bluetooth or upgrade your palm if you wish to continue using vista.

Palm treo 650

The 650 seems to have a delicate headphone/mic jack. Dropping the phone, even gently, seems mess up that jack. I returned my first treo 650 as defective, and got a new one. The same thing happened to my new 650 after I simply compressed the phone in my breast coat pocket by holding my mail against my chest.

I can't get a new one because the replacement treo comes with no warranty of any kind. :(

My advice would be to find a PDA/phone repair service to repair the jack or diagnose the problem if it turns out not to be the jack.
