Funny enough this reply just came today. I had my tv sent to an authorised Samsung dealer and the bright blue pixels still appear on the left hand side - just not as bad now.

Going to get my plasma sent in AGAIN.. :O( I don't like watching tv on a 19inch LCD...

I have the same problem with my Samsung 42". I've had the TV for about a year and 8 months. It seems to be the same problem everybody else is having. What, if anything, can I do to fix the problem?

TV manufacturers know that a certain percentage of TV's will end up with dead pixels. I believe there is an app called UDPixel that can fix dead pixels on monitors and TV's. Google it.

I have a bright spot on the right hand side of the screen that is getting larger. Is there a fix or is it toast?

This is likely not going to go away. If the bright spot is just a few pixels, Sony may replace the TV under warranty. Contact them and describe the problem and they may repair. There is no way to fix this issue on your own.

Error diffusion on Samsung 50" PLASMA TV

Yes the diffusion problem on your tv is due to the pdp panel aging. What you can try is readjusting the VSCAN voltage, there is a test point marked VSCAN using a DVM you can first check the voltage, should be around -- 190 turn the adjustment counter clockwise this should reduce the voltage, watcthing the picture turn control untill the sparkling pixels stop. That should do it. The panel is starting to age this may occur again until you can't adjust it out meaning a bad panel.

Do you mean that you have a bright blue dot on the screen that stays on all the time???

If this is correct, there is a fault in the display driver where a single pixel or a number of them are turned on all the time. This can be in the pixel driver device or circuit itself, or there may be a fault inside of the Plasma screen itself right at the lit pixel(s).

When you take the set in for service, they will be able to determine the exact fault. If it what I think it is, the service cost may not be feasible. I hope you have an extended warranty on this set!

Pixel damage

Those small pixels are now damaged not much u can do with it. Some people say you can press on the screen the pixels affected and possiblilty get them to make contact and light back up ( I honestly highly doubt it) If u can live with and not very distracting keep watching it. But if you want to order a replacement, more than likely it will cost more than the TV did when u bought it. If its still under warranty get it replaced if possible.

Blue snowy pixel areas on my plasma

some of these panels were mis-calibrated from the factory after not aging long enough. Let the TV run for atleast 2 hours and adjust the Vs and Vscan voltages. When it is blue in the left I have found generally the Vs is about 10 volts too high.
