I was using my AOC monitor, when suddenly with sharp noise the screen went blank, and after that there was no power in the monitor. i replugged the monitor but still no power was coming in the monitor.
i have not used it much in the last few months, but it was working fine till the last time i used it, but when i booted my computer today, i saw that the picture was a bit distorted, so i used the Degauss option given in the monitor program menu. however even after that the shape of the picture failed to improve, but i left it at that. i was carrying on with my work, but after about 5 minutes there was a noise of a spark and the screen died, and it refused to receive power. i mean when i now switch on my computer, there is power in the monitor. my monitor is around 4 years old. what should i do?
Sounds like a fairly drastic fault, possibly in the power supply section. Probably not worth fixing with the cost of new LCD screens, but maybe worth asking at a local repair place.

It's probably the backlight. If you look very closely, perhaps using a flashlight, you might be able to see that it is still working but just not being lit up from the back. In that case it may be worth fixing, but if not, then it's probably past its useful life.
One other thing you might try is a different power supply.
I have a couple AOC i2353ph monitors. One day, one of them booted up with a single vertical white line moving slowly back and forth across the screen that kind of looked like a scan or radar. Once I reset the monitor from the OSD it went way. Use "Extra > Reset" from the monitor menu.
Hook up that monitor to another laptop or computer. If it works then its an issue with the vga port on your laptop. If the monitor still shows those lines then you know for sure the monitor is bad and it will have to be replaced.
check the power pack to see if it has the required output voltage, usually 12-15 volts. solidstate power packs are prone to failure. The LCD screens require between 2 and 4 amps to power them. A strain on some power packs.
