Re: Erase messenger chat conversations
(I changed my opinion of the best method for doing this in the middle of my post - read to the very end).
Open Yahoo Messenger (I am assuming you are using Version 9 (Beta). Click on the Contacts tab and go to Message archive. This will pull up all conversations, incl deleted offline messages from pornbots, etc. Right click each folder under the main "Messages" folder and delete them one by one. I tried deleting them in bulk, but this feature doesn't seen to be enabled yet - I would tell Yahoo that they need to improve on this feature when they finalize version 9.
Oops! correction: they did enable this feature (see below)
Open Yahoo Messenger. Click the "Messenger" tab. go to Preferences. Click on Archive. Click on "No, do not save any of my messages". Then click, "Clear archive now".
Yahoo's suggested method: To turn off archiving of your instant messages: 1.Click History in the top-right part of the page. 2.Click Options in the upper right of the My History window. 3.Un-check “Enable Message History” in the dialog. 4.Click Done.

I no longer use mozilla, but I think it probably has something to do with your internet settings. Is all other browsing okay? Do you use other chat or messenger programs? I would go to Internet options or settings, wherever that is on mozilla (on internet explorer, it is on the toolbar under "tools") and have a look and see what your settings are it could be that you have a setting that prevents use of messenger or chat services. It may be in your securtiy settings or your content settings. Also, you might check your virus control program to make sure that settings there have not changed. You will find a section there for internet settings where you can stop viewing of certain sites. Something may be stopped there.
If this does not help, can you get to yahoo (email or messenger?) You may have to get a new ID. not fun I know, and we will leav that as the last option.
Please let me know if this does not work for you. I am going to go have alook at the mozilla browser again and see if I can help you more.
You could try uninstalling the messenger and then doing a clean download and install(meaning make sure when you download that all of your running programs are turned off, including your virus control.) Also, you might want to check your virus control under interent content or whatever yours may call it and see if you have been prohibited from using yahoo messenger there. Someone may have accidentally prohibited any chat or messenger programs. Good luck and let us know with a rating. thank you.
