It seems to be the on/off switch.

It seems to be the on/off switch. When we get the green light it should show the logo but it doesn't and then switches itself off. There we can neither watch sky or dvd or vidio.

Linda_rhodes, It seems to be a problem with the INTERNAL switch-mode-power-supply and not the "ON/OFF" switch. You should have electronics technician investigate the SMPS to determine why it is going into shutdown mode. "Smart" smps's will go to shutdown mode when they detect a "fault condition" with itself or another electronic circuit. It does this to prevent a catastrophic, nonrecoverable failure from occuring!! e.g. sparks, smoke, fire. If unit covered by warranty, USE it first! Whenever posting a problem, always mention the date of manufacture from rear of set. Although plasma screen sets are different from "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamp" back-lit screen tv's and computer lcd monitors, both require white light to see images on the screen. As a technician, the first place I would start looking for problem would be on the smps printed circuit board, to find cause of shutdown. Linda, I would also do search on web to see if other owners are having same type failure mode occuring for same or similar model!!! Have you been to YOUTUBE yet? Try there for video's of useful repair info also, even though you won't do the repair. Please post back to this response after doing some research. I'm 12fixlouie on fixya. Bye for now.

Welcome to the world of Windows 7. Don't you miss Windows XP? LOL, Windows 7 is a nightmare just like Vista.

Anyway I think it's your Memory. You mentioned moving the memory chips around, but you didn't mention trying one at a time. I think one of them is bad.

Memory ChipRemove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting.Try just working with one of them in Slot 1 and swap them out in just Slot 1.

Oh, I just thought of something else, Maybe you have bad Capacitors on the motherboard. Remove the Power Cord, Remove the Case. Take a flash light and look inside the computer at the capacitors. They look like little Battery Towers. If any of them are spewing corrosion out of them, they can cause the computer to go crazy just like yours is doing.

Hp pavilion 752n wont turn on.

Seems like a dirty or a bad switch altogether. With the face cover off, try spraying it with an electrical parts cleaner. If that doesn't work, replace it.
