Question about Sanyo DS27910 27" TV

1 Answer

Volume controls dont work when using remote

I lost the original remote of my TV Sanyo DS27910, but my motorola cable remote operated the TV volume controls OK for one year. Lately, it has become off and on. Sometimes the remote works the volume controls, other times it does not. It is intermittent. I bought a Philips PM3S universal remote contro today, thinking that the TV needed one specifically. After one code try, it operated the TV volume, but never worked again.

When pushed directly on the TV set, the volume controls always work, but I am having difficulties getting it to work properly on remote. 90% of the time, I cannot use the remote.

Please advice.

I would start by trying other codes on the universal remote. Sometimes codes will only work part of the remote such as the numbers or channels but not volume. Your motorola cable remote sounds like it may only need a good cleaning. sometimes when you take remotes apart it will look like somthing got spilt in it. I would start there first.

Sanyo DS31590 no remotes will work, will not turn on power or volume but changes channels

If you can control the TV by using its front panel controls, and only remote control is not working, the fault may be either to its remote control handset or to the remote sensor inside. The remote sensor is a small component, having only three solder terminals and will look like this. 7_12_2012_12_53_47_pm.jpg7_12_2012_12_54_01_pm.jpg
This is the component inside the TV which senses the infrared rays emitted by the remote control, and convert it to digital signals, and send to the microcomputer section circuit to process. This component can be located just behind the infrared remote window at the front panel of the TV. You have to open the TV to access it, and to replace it. Just check your remote for its infrared emission, before going further. Just get more details about how to check a remote control from this site named 'Electro-help'. Pull up older posts there. Just check this link, and locate the site named above.

I can give you these. You should try them until one works hopefully. 0506, 0311, 0612, 0002, 0428, 0802, 0412, 0619. Sometime the universal remotes will not operate everything so be sure to try the power on/off and the volume and try changing channels before assuming the code is wrong. One of these should work...

Channel display

Get an original remote and follow the instructions in the booklet that came with the set. If you have lost this, you may be out of luck. Universal remotes frequently do not cut the mustard!Sanyo, being fairly user friendly, sells replacements, as do others. Look around for one. There is probably a "Display" button or something obvious you need to press to get rid of this. Losing the original remote can be a gigantic "Gotcha!"

If you have a "Menu" button on the front panel of your set, then you may be able to change settings from the menu this way. If not then you will have to have the original remote to change settings. Stargazer
