Before you beginTo determine if the CD or DVD drive displays on the My Computer screen, follow the steps below.

  2. In Windows 98 and Me, double-click the My Computer icon on the desktop. In Windows XP, click Start and then My Computer .

Step 3: Uninstalling Easy CD CreatorIf the above steps fail to make Easy CD Creator recognize the CDRW, recover Easy CD Creator by uninstalling it. Recovering Easy CD Creator resets the software and causes it to look for the CDRW drive again. Possess dell inspiron 6000 centino wireless, need drivers and xp

You can contact Dell Technical Support and see if they will send you a new XP CD. All the drivers can be downloaded at Support.dell.com for that system. If you can't get Dell to replace the CD, try Ebay. Here is an Example:

Original xp

Hi Vostro owner.Dont worry, this can be sorted.Sound issue is not because u installed windows from a Non-dell cd.But i would ask to call up dell because they will provide u the XP disc that should have come with the system or even it is lost from you. Also then we can download the driver from support site : www.support.dell.com and install it.It is just a mere coincidence now.But the reason i'm asking to get cd from Dell is so that u can avoid any future problems with installing XP from a non-dell cd

Toshiba satellite 4015cdt has cdrom issues

sounds like you have a messed up install of Easy CD Creator. I've had the same issue when i was running it. the problem is the direct CD that comes with it. it tries to make a CD act like a Floppy Disk. I've heard of issues similar with Nero but I've never had issues. either uninstall and reinstall Easy CD creator or uninstall it and change to Nero software for burning CD's .

Blank DVD

Hello again tharasathy, I understand your guestion & my answer is simple. You need software program called Nero Ver.6.6.1.4
When you put a DVD into your samsung player Nero will load & ask what you want to do (since it's blank). Nero can do so much, I love it & use it when ever I need to burn a DVD-RW or CD-RW. To copy data, music & video to CD or DVD's.
To download nero for free go to the link listed below. Scroll down till you find Ver. 6.6.1.4 & download it.
http://www.brothersoft.com/downloads/free-nero.html

By the way tharasathy, I'm glad your windows is finally running so much better & glad I could help. Do you still think it was worth a (green) vote? Fix's go for blue around here.....

If I can be of more service, just ask.
Have a good day!

Mike

Some of the programmes not opening

When your operating system begians fail all kinds of weird things can happen. Blue screens come from software & hadware. (shame you did not write down the message shown while in the blue screen)
First run a full system scan for a virus. Once complete. Put your Win XP CD in your CDROM. Restart your notebook. If your notebook does not start up the CDROM restart the notebook again & press F5 key every 2 seconds. This will bring up windows boot menue. Using your keyboard's up & down arror keys move to the CDROM & press enter. The Win XP CD will startup. Read the on screen instructions, you want to re-install windows only! Doing a re-install only over writes windows repairing it's self. Most of your personal data will not be erased.
Once complete, go to Dell's web site & install any drivers that are newer than the drivers shown on your Dell CD.
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&ServiceTag=&SystemID=INS_PNT_1501&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=

Re-start the notebook. Than run windows update. (which may take some time to complete & include a few restarts).
Everything should go back to normal.

Good Luck & kind Regards

Cd drive is not recognized

Hi, The problem of the CD drive missing (and sometimes the A drive likewise) has been known to come up from time to time when PCs were upgraded to SP2, on some Dell models, the InCD feature of Nero, or those with Roxio CD creator 5. A couple of things you can try: 1. Uninstall references to the CD in your Device Manager, reboot. Windows is suppose to autodetect and auto install such devices; 2. verify that the CD is detected in the CMOS/BIOS, save & exit; 4. download and merge to your registry a quickfix - 5. If installed, uninstall/remove InCD or Roxio CD creator 5. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turn up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.
