About ups

If you remove all of the equipment plugged into the UPS, is it still lit?

Are you sure this is an overload light, and not a replace battery light? If this is a smart-ups unit, the overload light is next to a picture that looks like an unbalanced scale. The replace battery light is a square with an X through it.

If it is, in fact an overload light that is lit, and it stays lit with less than the maximum load on it, or without any load on it, then you have a critical internal failure and the unit needs to be replaced or repaired.

SU700net totally dead I have an SU700 that when plugged in is totally dead. If the batteries are dead should this still come on?

If the batteries are shorted out, the UPS won't come up. Try removing the batteries & test the device with the batteries disconnected.

APC UPS 1500 w/full load forces immediate reboot at pwr failure

With a 980watt load the run time is only 7 minutes on a brand new battery. If you have the system on full load your run time will be much less and it has likely damaged the battery. here is the APC web site page for your model. If you are running that much equipment I think you need either a bigger UPS or another 1500 and spread the load out.

Back up problem

The time will lower the longer u keep using it. Every (Chemical) battery needs to be replaced periodically and maybe its time to change your UPS batteries too. Since you were using double battery, it is supposed to be replaced every 4 yrs or so if it is used regularly.....sodeep

Flashing lights

you may have to check the power cord and if that is in place and okay, you will have to check the fuse on the ups. if all that does not work, send it back to the comany for repairs or contact a repair personnel
