Question about RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8100

Phone won't ring

My BB Pearl all of a sudden will not ring when I am called. Incoming texts give no notification as well. I went in and made certain I am not in "mute" mode on the profile section.
Also, now when I call someone, I do not hear a ring while waiting for the other party to answer.

Please advise here or at my email...

Yesterday, my pearl worked fine. Today, i can hardly hear the ring, no matter what ring tone I use. it is set for loud, but is almost silent. i have to have the phone next to my hear to hear the ring. when i answer the phone the volume is fine to hear whoever is calling. is there some setting to adjust the ring volume besides the loud profile?

My bb curve wont ring/vibrate and the red light will not flash when I get a call/text message/voicemail.

You will need to firstly check the profile settings for notification of call/ text/ message/ voice mail.

On the home screen it is the speaker icon (profile) usually upper right corner

Choose the profile and scroll until you find the current profile - WIll be marked as active.

Scroll to the bottom of the menu for advanced
in the next menu - click on the bold active profile and opt for edit

Find the phone/ SMS/ MMS/ Messenger and any other actions that are not currently notifying...

Check the LED flashing option is set on all of these.

Not sure if the pearl interface is the same as mine, a Storm - I have an option on my main screen to fast-select ring volume (called Notification), which affects both calls and messages, and I can choose loud, soft, vibrate, silent, and also go into options for more detailed settings. You may have such an option that is easy to find, and maybe easy to set by mistake, without realising it.

Pearl manual at this location:
http://docs.blackberry.com/en/smartphone_users/deliverables/1217/userguide_bb8100_gprs.pdf
see p193, Notification Profiles.
There are other keys, eg # that affect notification sounds/vibrate. Download and search in the manual for 'Notification" to find all the places mentioned.

Even if you have a paper manual, I recommend keeping the electronic one since you can easily search for keywords and find all the places they are mentioned quickly.

HTC Touch doesnt ring on incoming call

Hi. First thing, you can check your sound settings, by tapping Star Menu, then Settings, then Sounds & Notifications, and through that page, you can check if your incoming call alert is on (just sound, or vibrate and sound), you can try to change the ringtone to see if your current ringtone is damaged or not. (Since other sounds are alright, there shouldn't be any problem in your hardware or in the sound volume levels) Hope this helps.

Nokia E90 - no sound or mail symbol on incoming text message

Erase all incoming and outgoing text messages from the phone. Then take out the battery while the phone is on. This problem tends to happen when there are more than 2000 messages in the phone.

How to save text message? and how assining tone to incoming sms?

you can transfer your text messages to your PC by installing a software on your PC called Jeyo Mobile Companion. download this software, install it and then connect your phone with the PC. once synchronized, you will be able to transfer all your text messages to your PC as a "Notepad" document! i hope this works for yah.. for your other question, go to start then settings, then "sounds and notifications", then go to the "notifications" tab, then in the "event" pull down menu select "messaging:new text message" and then check the "play sound" check box and then select any sound you would like. simple isn't it? ;)
