Audio problem Hello..Please help me out on this..im not a computer expert,and i dont know what to do..i bought a second hand laptop and when i bought it...i didnt check on the audio..i dont hear any sounds coming from the laptop if i played cd's..i just see the video...with no sounds..please help me as to what to do..walk me through it step by step...i would be very happy to hear from anyone..thank you so much..take care always sincerely, tin

Do you get the volume control speaker icon in the taskbar bottom right of the screen.
If so double click it and the mixer should popup.
Make sure none of the items in it are Muted, or the levels sliders are not at the bottom.

If not go to Control panel on the Start menu. Then click on the
Sound and Audio Devices icon. When the box pops up have a look to see if the option to Place volume icon in the taskbar is ticked or greyed out (not clickable).
If it's not clickable then there is usually no sound device installed.
If that is the case you should check in the Bios to make sure the On Board Audio is Enabled. The way to get in to the Bios varies from computer to computer.
Usually you press F2 or the Delete key just as the computer starst up and before it loads Windows.
The On Board Audio setting is in the Integrated Devices or Integrated Peripherals section or similar.
If it's Disabled just change setting to Enable or Auto.
Save changes and Exit, then it will reboot.

If it's not any of them then it may just be a matter of reinstalling the Audio Drivers.
Find the make and model number of the machine and have a look on the manufacturers website. They usually have all the drivers and manuals.
