Hello, The only way to get the code is to call a Mercedes dealer and give them the information so they can get it from MBNA.
Sometimes you will have to take your vehicle registration and ID to the dealership in order for them to process it.

How to reset security code for a 1997 mercedes benz c230

Check the manual for the security code for your vehicle. I'm pretty sure it's a 5 digit code. If you locate it, enter the code into your stereo. You may have to take it to a Mercedes dealer if you cannot find it. If you do have to take it to the dealer, pull the radio out and get the serial number from the side of the radio, the service tech will charge you big bucks if you make him do it. I hope this helps =)

I hope you didnt charge me. I went to the dealership and they have these 2 keys that stick into slots on the radio. The two bottom corners and the keys unlock the radio and it slides right out.

Mercedes

There are two key slots in the bottom left and right of the factory radio.  You will need two keys to release the radio from the dashboard.  There is no other way to do this.  Once the keys are in, the radio will slide out without you having to remove any other component in the car.  If you go to the dealer, they will charge you plenty.  Go to one of the smaller, technician owned shops and they will take it out for you for $10.

Help

If it's any consolation, I don't think the problem is anything that you might have done. Probably the radio just decided that today was a good day to die and you just happen to be there at the time. The only thing I can think of just off the cuff is to remove the radio fuse (both of them) for about 5 minutes to reset the radio back to factory. Might help. The only snag in that is the possiblility that there is a security code that you would have to enter to get the radio to work after removing all power. You might talk to the dealer about the security code before you actually try this. Make sure that he can get you up and running again with a factory code after the fact. Sorry to hear about your problem. Seems cars have a way of knowing when their owners are not driving them and they save all their glitches for just that time. I had borrowed my wife's father's van one time when it decided the time was right for the transmission to go out. (lucky me, huh?) Good luck.

1998 Mercedes ML320 Radio code instructions

does your radio ask for the code when you turn on the ignition key. If you see _ _ _ _ or **** you should enter the code using the pre set numbers for your radio, ie, first code should be entered using the first pre set key on the radio ( number one ).
Followed by the second code number being entered using the second pre set button and so on until all of the code is entered.
After entering the full code the radio should accept, if not enter code again and press the next pre set key following, ie, if the code is 4 digits, press the fifth.
Hope this works.
If all this fails most garages will set the security code for you for a small charge. Make sure you take proof of car ownership otherwise they will normally refuse to reset the code. This is to foil theft.

Forgot code to unlock radio

In the bottom left corner hold the button "ame/auto" and hold right on the joystick. after a few seconds the four underscores beside CODE will go away, now grab the remote and type "KCAR" with the number buttons pushing left after each letter. when done hit left and it will say APPROVED and reset the deck.
