Cannot locate water filter eject button

We do not have the manual and cannot find a diagram online. Where is the eject button that ejects the water filter?

    Julie was right on.

The access is in the grill of the fridge. But you will have to really "reef" it counter clockwise to get it off. Mine required a fair bit of elbow grease. A small dribble of water will come out as well so have a rag handy.

***Some models do not have an eject button so if you can't find it use the twist method to get it out.

Your water filter is located in the kickplate area, you either have to twist it counter clock wise , or rightnext to the filter is a little button says PUSH. it ejects the PUR filter for replacement . ordering instuctions on filter itself

i looked up your machine and you're missing the last two digits of the model number after the s but it shows that you turn the filter counter clockwise and then you pull it out, remove the cap, slide in the new valve, slide the cap on and turn it clockwise to install it.

What is the model number for the water filter for the KitchenAid #KSRG25FKSS16 refrigeator and where is it found in the refrigerator? thank you.

Hello pssutherland,

I understand that you need to locate the water filter on your KitchenAid fridge. The water filter is located at the bottom of the fridge in the grill. There is a eject button that you will need to press next to the water filter in order to get it to release.
1. Press the eject button
2. pull the filter straight out
3. Remove the cap by turning it clockwise (you will need to install this on the new one)
4. Reinstall the cap on the new filter
5. Push the filter in until the eject button pops back out.
6. Purge the system run three full glass of water thru the water dispencer and throw away.
7. You are done

Were is water filter in refrigerator

The water filter is located inside the fresh food section. In the top right hand up front as soon as you open the door it has a push button to eject the cartridge or it is in the back of fridge section in a plastic cup that easily unscrews. A new filter can be purchased at a hardware store or local appliance repair store. they can also be ordered online.

Where is the eject button for a kitchenaid superba water filter?

I went through this same thing! You probably can't find an eject button because there isn't one on the model that you have. It probably isn't turning because it's just stuck and you have to just have confidence that you're not breaking it and force it to the left - all of a sudden, it will "pop" and turn easily.

Here is a great link to show you the different types of Kitchen Aid refrigerator filters - which kind has an eject button and which doesn't:

http://kitchenaid.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/149

I also found a great (and short!) video from Kitchen Aid that really helped me see how to do it. Try this one - I thought it was the best:

http://www.kitchenaid.com/content.jsp?sectionId=852

Finally knowing there wasn't an "eject" button saved me many hours of looking, and the tip about using the handles of the plyers worked great.

It is really discouraging to think you can't just screw out a water filter, but it isn't you. The directions are misleading - they don't match what you're seeing, and it doesn't twist out easily - it has to be forced....and THEN it twists out easily.

Hope this helps. It worked for me when I'd completely given up.

Best of luck!

Eileen

Water filter does not eject when button is depressed.

I just had the same ting happen to me. You need to leave the cover to the water filter (it is the black plastic cover that is part of the grill) is still connected to the filter. After depressing the eject button, this cap helps to pull out the filter. DON'T throw away this very important part, other wise it is impossible to get the filter out. Once you eject the filter, some water will leak from the filter. Just put it in the sink to drain for a while.
