My network is connected to a Dlink DIR 615 N wireless router
Desktop running XP connected to router port 1
Notebook, Vista home premium - wireless connection
All above communicate fine except printing from wireless laptop.
Printing worked fine till network magic 7 day trial version expired. Now router is blocking printing to desktop connected printer from notebook.
My question is: Is there a way the router can be configured to allow printing again from the wireless notebook without having to buy the full version of network magic form pure networks

I assume you're talking about the wireless network, not the wired network. This password is manually set, not predetermined. To know/change it you'll have to use a network cable to connect to the router instead of wireless. Once connected, open up your browser to 192.168.0.1, this should bring up the router's web configuration page, from there: - Login (by default: user: Admin, pw: <blank> - select WIRELESS SETTINGS and press the "Manual Wireless Network Setup" button - you should see the configured wireless password at the bottom under the "Wireless Security Mode" section.
if you failed to login with Admin/<blank> combination it means the password is changed previously, in this case, you must reset your router.
Quote from user manual, here's how to reset it: "To reset the router, locate the reset button (hole) on the rear panel of the unit. With the router powered on, use a paperclip to hold the button down for 10 seconds. Release the button and the router will go through its reboot process. Wait about 30 seconds to access the router. The default IP address is 192.168.0.1. When logging in, the username is admin and leave the password box empty.
Press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in the back side of router.
then all settings goes to defaults.
connect router to computer lan port with lan cable.then you can access it with default ip addresshttp;//192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.1.2Type user as 'admin" and password as "admin" or "1234" or "password" or blank then you can see configuration page of router. Then configure it.Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.
The WPA key is the encryption key that is configured in the router's wireless settings and the wireless cards in the laptop and desktop needs to be configured with this encryption setting to allow the laptop and desktop computer to communicate with the router.
You can view the encryption settings in the router's wireless settings or on the laptop's wireless card settings and then apply these encryption settings to the desktop's wireless card (ie. the SSID and the WPA encryption).
I would suggest you to change the wireless channel on the Dlink and use the channel on which WG111 will scan and connect to your network. Also, plese make sure to use the security encryption on the DLINK to WEP or WPA only. Using higher security like WPA2 will cause issues with this adapter.
1. Log into the router by typing 192.168.0.1 in the address bar of your browser.
2. User admin for the username and leave the password blank (unless you have changed the username and password, if so use your custom settings)
3. Next run the security security wizard: Click Setup at the top then click Launch Wireless Security Setup Wizard.
4. It will take you step by step to set up a secure wireless network.
I would also suggest you change the router password while your in there to prevent others from accessing your router using the default setting if you have not already changed it.
Type 192.168.0.1 (you can type the router address if you have changed) and enter on browser's addressbar. Router's interface will appear. Click on SETUP and Click on the WIRELESS SETTINGS at left side. on the page you will see the option of WIRELESS SECURITY by drop down menu you can choose the Security mode that you wish. here is the link for the emulator http://support.dlink.com/emulators/wbr1310_revB/wireless.htm
