Ok u just have to reseat the ram ....if u know how to open the notebook and locate the ram u can go ahead and reseat thr ram .....try this if the issue is still not resolved then go reboot the notebook and keep tapping F8 key ..it will take u to BIOS select the HDD and hit enter and run a short test on the HDD if it passes then the HDD IS OK then go ahead and restart the system and keep tapping F11 it will take you to recovery manager ..click on advanced option and mark a check on systm recovery and click on next....then select recover without backing up......then click on next........it will reformat the HDD and restoire it back to factory settings if any of the steps does not work then call the hp 1800 no and ask to be transferrred to notebook department..and if u r in warrenty then go ahead and ask the tech guy to bench the system for o.s reload .....if u r in warrent then u dont have to pay a single penny everything will be done for free.........if u do ahve any other query u can email me at [email protected]
Hey, seems your harddrive partiton has corrupted.
If you have the installation cd of your windows. You can try
repairing windows from the repair console with the command. CHKDSK it might not perform the scan at first try it should tell you how to force a scan even thought the disk seems ok.
If that doesnt help your only option is to reinstall windows.
A repair installation should fix it but if it doesnt your going to need to perform a full install.
Do you have your windows xp cd...can you boot using that disk...if so, can you do a repair at all...
Is it asking you to run chkdsk /r/f or anything remotely close to that, or is it just the blue screen of death?
What were you doing last? Did you make any hardware or software changes>
