If it worked before you updated the driver, so a system restore to the day before you downloaded the driver. That will set things back to the way they were before the driver update.

Audio Issue

Is it HDMI linked? If it is, that will carry the audio and switch the laptop analogue audio off.

Check your connections and cables. From the look of the thing it is designed to work from the USB port on a desktop computer, a laptop gives less power through the USB ports, this is why most USB powered devices for laptops have 2 USB plugs for connection.

Hi, I want to know if there is a way to watch tv (sound & picture) with a htmi cable or similar even if I do not have a hdmi port. thank you

You might be better off with external speakers connected to the laptop's audio output. Flat panel TV speakers tend to be weak.

If you want to continue with the HDMI option and your laptop doesn't have an HDMI port, try a USB to HDMI adapter. Look carefully, some models output 720p not 1080p. One possible unit: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Aluratek-AUH200F-Aluratek-USB-to-HDMI-1080p-Adapter/16386417 . However, your video rate may be sluggish due to the limits of the USB port. (If you have a USB 3.0 port on your laptop and find a USB 3.0 adapter, it won't be as bad. USB 2.0 adapters are more common.)

Look at the specs for your laptop or add a comment with the make and model. My mom's HP laptop (purchased in 2009) has an HDMI out; however, the audio driver doesn't go to HDMI out by default.

You may need to adjust the audio output options. (In Windows 7, Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound. Then Select Manage Audio Devices under Sound. Check the Playback tab for your audio output options and change the default device if needed.

I hope this helps.

Ive connected my laptop to my tv via hdmi cable, get great picture but no sound through my tv only off the laptop, ive gone to control panel, sounds, playback but the is only 2 options neither of which says...

In all the laptops the HDMI sends only the video. If you want to send the sound you will have to use the analogue audio outputs - line out of your laptop has it (some allow the headphone jack to be configured as one) or just the headphone jack. You will need a cable like

I cant hear any sound when i watch online movie or music videos please help

1) Apparently its caused by the deletion of a single registry entry called wavemapper which some people blame on Adobe's flash player.

Here is the fix:-

Start -> Run and enter 'regedit' or 'regedit.exe' (obviously without the quotes) - This will bring up the registry editor

Follow the left path to:
My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mic... NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32

On the right pane, right click and click on New, select String value, enter 'wavemapper', press ENTER

Then right-click on 'wavemapper', select modify, and type 'msacm32.drv' into the Value Data field.

Close the registry editor.

This should all work now without a reboot so you can get back to watch youtube clips all day.

2) Recall that in CONTROL PANEL under SOUNDS AND AUDIO DEVICES and the VOLUME tab, I said it was greyed out. Even though I had all drivers installed, it said "NO AUDIO DEVICE" and the DEVICE VOLUME could not be accessed.

Well, the problem was under the AUDIO tab and the SOUND PLAYBACK section. DEFAULT DEVICE was set to "Modem #0 Line Playback".

I clicked on the arrow on the right - for the drop down menu - and saw a second choice..."Vinyl AC'97 Audio (WAVE)".

I chose it, clicked on "APPLY", went back to the VOLUME tab, where it now read "Vinyl AC'97 Audio (WAVE)" and the volume was accessible.

clicked on "OK" - went to youtube.com and it played perfectly

I have a Toshiba laptop L305D-S5895 and a Toshiba Hi Def LCD 37AV502U tv. I got an audio cable, that I have in the headphone spot & the original cable needed to connect the pc to the tv. I am getting all...

Which cables have you attached to your TV (the video and audio)?
Does the TV has left & right audio inputs (RCA connectors)?

When you attach a headphone to the laptop, the speakers on the laptop switch off and the sounds divert to the headphones. Try and connect a cable (stereo) from the headphone outlet on the laptop to the audio stereo inputs on the TV.

Sound

Windows can only play sound through one device at a time unless you have multiple audio devices, (i.e. USB headphones and onboard soundcard)

Even when you have multiple audio devices, very, very few programs have the ability or need to play the same audio through 2 different devices at the same time.

you can for example though, play winamp through your speakers while playing a vido game in your USB headset. Basically it is possibly to have different audio going the different devices at the same time but it is generally not possible to have the same audio going through different devices at the same time.

Poor sound quality

Thank you for clarifying for us what it is you have, it's very helpful. I don't know how long you've had the TV, is there a chance that there is a guarantee covering it if it indeed has any problems? (not for us to know, just thought I'd bring it up.) Some suggestions: I see from the spec's that the TV has a headphone jack. You should try headphones when the problem is exhibited, (even if they're for your IPOD) if the headphones sound clean it's probably the speakers. If the distortion is present in the headphones, it's probably not the speakers, or anything else in the TV. In which case I would suspect a problem with the source, you know, the old garbage in - garbage out. Even digital cable is not immune to such problems. It's only as good as the guy that set it up. Hope this helpful for you.
If you find my suggestions to be helpful, please share with us some details so that others may benefit from knowing the whole story. Thank you!

Watch laptop movies on TV?

What you would need is a VGA to RCA converter cable. Something like this. Once hooked up, use your Fn key combination to switch the view from the internal monitor on the laptop to the external monitor, now your TV.

USB Midi Controller

the 'Add New Hardware Wizard' and force it to install the non-certified M-Audio drivers that were supposedly installed when running the M-Audio installer. (Skip internet search, and browse to M-Audio folder in Program files, it will eventually find them.) There are two M-Audio USB drivers that need to be 'forced' via New Hardware Wizard. But Windows thinks its drivers are a better match and even though 'device is working properly' it doesn't get recognized in your software. replaced them with the 2 USB ones from M-Audio, DAW finally recognized the keyboard. I even went through regedit to clean up all the M-Audio stuff so I could get a fresh install.

Good Luck you can do this /Have a great Sunday and a safe one.
