  • 05ss Mar 17, 2008

  • 05ss Mar 17, 2008

    IB4G2008 you there?

  • 05ss Mar 17, 2008

wat do you mean dvd setting enabled?

  • 05ss Mar 17, 2008

under the dvd setup theres a language menu, audio, surround fx, video, surround setup, and rating

  • 05ss Mar 17, 2008

ok well it's not letting me select the dvd setup menu right now. So I will have to get the head unit repaired?

  • 05ss Mar 17, 2008

to tell you the truth I wouldn't be able to tell you because I had installed it at an audio shop

  • 05ss Mar 17, 2008

ok well thanks for all your help. i'll just take it back so they can check all the wiring because it was working just all of a sudden it just didn't so i'm guessing it might be something within the head unit itself

    yeppers..

so, is the dvd stereo setting enabled?

  • Patrick Michaels
    Patrick Michaels Mar 17, 2008

ok..surround setup...use that one, and if not there, use the audio..this dvd should be driving both sides, and only reason is due to this setting OR the internal connection is gone(which means a trip to the repair center)

    are all these connected properly??

    Preamp Outputs: If you want
6-channel theater-style sound, you can hook up the appropriate external
amplifiers and speakers to the front, rear, center, and subwoofer preamp
outputs. When the unit is in 6-channel mode, you can independently adjust the
    level of each speaker.

    Inputs and Outputs
    Notes

    6-Channel Audio Preamp Outputs:
This unit has six audio preamp outputs: front left and
right, rear left and right, center, and subwoofer.

    Headphone/Multi Zone Output:

    The Headphone/Multi Zone
output consists of left and right RCA audio jacks and an RCA composite video
jack, allowing you to connect an
optional back seat monitor and headphone
    system.

    Aux Input:
The Aux input consists of left and right RCA audio jacks and an RCA
composite video jack, allowing you to connect external equipment to this head
unit. You can connect the device directly or through the iAUX3 Auxiliary Input
    module.

    Video Out: This
RCA composite video jack allows you add another external monitor.

    Camera Input: This
RCA composite video jack allows you connect an optional rear view camera.

    Wiring Harness: The VM9020's
main wiring harness has multiple Molex plugs that plug into the back of the
unit, plus a large white 18-pin plug on the other end. The white plug should be
cut off and each wire spliced to the appropriate wire in the vehicle wiring
    adapter.

Ouku single din no sound from rca cables

Sorry I did not use the video out RCA cables. My audio RCA cables worked fine... I ran them to my JBL amplifier through a conversion adapter. I did not run it direct to the amp.. I used Metra TYTO-01 03-08 Toyota Vehicles Harness for JBL SYS (Ebay item 160560648718) and it worked great.

Here is the wiring color coding that I found online:

Sound problems

are the cds you are using copys or originals as sometimes the copy wont give you the stereo sound that you want but if you are getting stereo sound through the radio and all speakers are working there should be no reason why you dont get sound through all 4 speaker through the cd as they all go through the same channels and produce sound the same way as the radio the only problem i ever had with sound was that the copys wouldnt give me stereo sound but the only other problem could be is that the cd player in the unit is damaged or something come loose on the actuall cd unit in the player itself have you tried ajusting the loudness of each speaker and see if their is any sound at all if not and you are using originall cds then their should be no problem with the sound you could try turning the stereo sound off and have it on mono then see if you get any sound in the other speakers if not then it is fault with the unit itself this can be difficult to repair and expensive to get parts for how old is unit try playing round with the speaker volumes if this dont change anything and the mono and stereo sound dont change anything then it will need to be repaired so i would sugest to take this to repair shop as this would be difficult to repair hope this is some help to you ........................................

Only door speakers have sound on the cd mode

the amp requires a 12 volt power constant, and a 12 volt "on" signal. you prolly have the 12 v "on" hooked up to the car stereo's antennae remote, meaning your amp gets power when the radio is on, cuase the radio is sending a signal to the amp (thinking that it is sending a signal to the antennae to raise)

you do have one of those collapsable antennas, right?

Noise in the speakers

You don't get enough ground. Take your ground wires and connect them directly to the frame. Goodluck.
