Funny that I came across this. I just now fixed this exact problem. This unit had failed after an electrical storm. Solution found elsewhere suggested removing the batteries and unplugging the A/C adapter for 10 minutes. (I waited 30). Reinstall batteries and reattach A/C adapter. Buttons worked to get to the erase memory option, which I did. Infoglobe is now functioning properly. This is also the instructions for clearing the "eeprom error" readout that many infoglobes exhibit after a power surge. Good Luck!
If you take it apart youll find that the plastic cover for the buttons is not actually pushing the button this is not the only possible solution but it is many times just that simple as adding or using something toallow the plastic button cover reach the button on the circuit board.

Yes, my globe does the same thing. I took it apart (not an easy thing to do) and made sure the buttons were meeting the contacts. I also vacuumed any dust out. I put it all back together....but the problem is still there.
i have trouble seting time
Funny I just started having the same problem. Olympia Infoglobe shows, can get the demo to start and end. Gives tx:ece2/v19; rx: 7015/v06; ep:4bdb and the motor speed of 39.0 hz. The buttons will not do anything else. Not sure what to do. I have replaced batteries, have unplugged everything let set for 30mins or more. Still the only thing I get is the above info. I hope someone can help. I still get the caller id information when the phone rings but I cannot delete or view the next ones. Help please someone.
Cannot get the menu to show up when I push select button, therefore cannot change time, date, etc. Help!
