Question about GE Profile WPRE6100G Top Load Washer

1 Answer

Excessive shaking during spin

I've had the machine for about 7 months. The shipping rod has been removed. Clothes are not excessively unbalanced. When stopping the machine during the spin, and moving a single item of clothing, it sometimes solves the problem (until the next time). This is happening regardless of load size....4-5 garments, to a full load.

Check to make sure the delivery guy removed the "shipping bolts". If they are removed, then I would call the store about the warranty on the machine.

It's noisy Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.

Simpson 705 washing machine shakes on spin dry

Check the Vibration damper rods to be sure that...
1. They are there and mount is solid.
2. If they are broken in 1/2.
3. The plastic knuckle mounts are not missing/broken.
4. There is oil in the shock absorber/spring section of the rods.

Also - there are suspension springs on the bottom of the tub that could be broken and/or missing.

Replace/repair as necessary.

IF THIS IS A BRAND NEW INSTALLATION - be sure you hav removed the basket shipping pins (4) that secure the tub during shipping.

Excessive wobble

If there's a loud thumping noise during the spin cycle, the load of clothes has probably gotten unbalanced. Open the lid, redistribute the clothes in the washer, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
