Onkyo TX-SV414Pro Display Language

I recently moved across town and when I hooked back up my Onkyo TX-SV414Pro, it looks like it's displaying characters in Japenese. How do I get these back to English on the front display? Also, is there a battery to change inside?

Got it!
I downloaded the TX-SV515PRO manual and on the last page was close enough to the right direction. What I did was this:
1. Unit on
2. If you have been able to use it, write down any settings in the top-middle status area (displayed in English).
3. Press and hold down the CD button (I counted to 5 - computer geek).
4. Then press the POWER button.
5. TEST is displayed. That's it. I didn't pull the power cord.
Good Luck! --George

The display is showing "PROTECT" and nothing (no sound) seems to work. What might be the problem?

It's possible that some of your speaker wring has either become loose, damaged, or is shorting. Perhaps even a faulty speaker. Check everything before you turn it on again.

When I power the unit on, the display has a lot of strange characters showing where it use to show like the station, speakers in use a or b or both etc...

Hi Tristan, please try the following reset: First you will want to press and hold the "MEMORY" button then you will want to also press and hold the "POWER" button, the display will show "TEST" at which point you will want to pull the power cord when TEST is displayed. Please note that when you reset the unit it will be like taking the unit out of the box for the first time. If you need further assistance please feel free to give our Product Support Team a call at 800-229-1687 as they are here 24/7 ready to assist, Thanks, JT

Display doesn't light up on Onkyo TX-DS595 reciever

try to connect the receiver to a tv via the monitor out from the receiver to the tv. you may be able to see the OSD (on screen display of your settings) change the function on that to turn on the front display. alternatively look on your remote to see if you can turn up the light of the front display.

if these don't work possible that the light of the display has blown

Onkyo TX-SV414Pro. No audio. Displays "Protect"

something is wrong either in one of your speaker connections or in the unit itself unplug for awhile to reset.try it again.make sure all connections are correct and nothing is touching.if that does not work it will be the unit itself

Onkyo TX-SV414Pro

setting the stations goes like this:

First hit class a, b, c etc, and to clear out what is there, hit 1, then hit both memory and the one next to it at the same time to delete what is in there, To program, hit memory, then quickly, class a, b, c, etc. What it does it store that station in the NEXT AVAILABLE slot, so it is best to clear all slots, and have the station call numbers ready in the order you wish to set them.
